awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.00 sh

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

Over what range of wavelength is this tuneable? All I see is adjustable power like DX has. It is almost impossible to tune a DPSS .... well maybe within a couple nM.

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

I think in the ad where it says "tunable", it means its power is tunable, I don't know if it is tunable as far as frequency goes. Other than the power level tuning it, I have no idea. Who knows. ::) Mike, you would probably know a lot more about that than I would. I'm still trying to figure out what the square filter is for, and why mines burned in the middle.

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

you removed this square piece transparent in the above picture ? what's this piece ? :-?

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

looks to me like an IR filter but it may be part of the crystal assembly (Ir filter in that position wouldn't make sense unless you've already removed the crystals)

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

hmmm, maybe it is an ir filter for 1064, but allows 808 to pass? :-?

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

So, anyone made theres portable if so what mA and the driver your using.

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

720ma, lm317. works great with a 7.2v rc battery. :D
using 3 x 5ohm resistors in parallel.

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

Well i have a 317 driver two 5.1 resistors and a 4.7 and a 9.6v rc battery :)

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

You should be ok with those components. You may have close to 750ma with those though. make sure you check the driver after you build it. If the diode is a 1 watt diode, it should be just fine with up to 1 amp. if its a 500mw diode, then 750ma is really pushing it. I would expect it to die very fast in that case. The one I built at 720ma is still working just fine. I have used it every day.
OH, and don't forget to heat sink your lm317 well enough so it doesn't get too hot. If you build it into an aluminum box, you can bolt it to the box, but :o DON'T FORGET to insulate the 317 from the box, the outside of the laser is +, and the 317s tab is OUT. If you forget to insulate it, it will die real quick. If you have a bad driver from aixiz, the big transistor on the heat sink close to the output end has an insulating kit on it. You can just take out the screw from the transistor, and use it, and the heat sink with the small insulator on the screw and the heat transfer insulator behind the transistor. when you take it apart, you will see what I am talking about. This heat sink really isn't big enough for the lm317, but it will work, but after a few minutes it will start to overheat. I fixed that by drilling a hole on one side of the heat sink and tapping it, then using heat sink grease on it and a screw to attach it to the side of the aluminum case. Now it doesn't overheat after 15 minutes on.

Wow you are right the regulator gets hot fast and i have the driver if anyone wants it 20 dollars.

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

i copy my post from the section "review"
o0 Big problem, i ordered one of their 50 mw unit at 65 dollar and received it today . Im a little dissapointed, because the max current which flow to the laser diode is 460 ma, the same as my other greenie ! im a bit far from 720 ma !
I compared the power to my 100 mw laser from DX (probably a 70), and the aixiz beam is weaker than the DX one. I will ask Aixiz, plus i have a strange label which show "30 mw".
+ the laser module is not the same as you guy !

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

They sent you a 30mW laser. Send them an email. They will make it right.

Peace,
dave

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

Thanks you Daguin, i send them an email via ebay ;)

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

ya, they sent me 2 broken ones, out of the 4 I ordered. That one is different from the ones I received.
Oh, and by the way, I checked 2 different power supply's, they both were around 650ma. one was 630ma, the other was 670ma. The other 2 didn't work.

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

Lol :-/

We have been doing some substitution. The pot should adjust up (take the cover off the power supply).

Hello Mr Aixiz =)
I recently ordered one of your 50 mw unit , and received it today (fast shipping, thanks !!!!), but i think there is a little mistake on the unit :
The maximum current flowing to the diode is 460 ma , whereas other unit can go up to 700 mA (with the potentiometer), the same as my other green laser pointer (rated at 30 mw) , plus i have a 30 mw label on the side of the module (witch are not the same in the photo in the auction, like

i have :

I think i got a real 30 mw green, instead of your lovely 50-80 mw. It's is possible to resend you this unit to have an other ? i have not modified the laser module to check mA.
Thanks for your response !
=)

Re: awesome lab quality 50mw modules for 65.00+5.0

I will but I cannot until we receive some more units from our customer.

Chuck

Hi
Of course i take the cover off, but the max current flowing to the diode is 460 ma, when the pot is reduce to his maximum ! (i can go to 0-460 ma)
It's a 30 mw unit, weaker than my other greenie, the unit is great, but im not interested with this range of power !
Can you replace it with the 50-80mw one ? thanks a lot !

mmhhh :-?
