Infinitus;

The 2900mah 18650PF Panasonics are quite good with 10 amp discharge current.

But the Samsung INR18650 20 series sacrifices about a third capacity to deliver 15 amps.

Neither.

Both are just wrappers around cells manufactured by other companies.

So... Panasonic.
I think this is the most relevant point with so many batteries. I have quite a few Panasonic, Sony,Sanyo ,AW ( who ever is the maker of those AW i mean ) and without doubt quite a few trustfire, ultrafire, truefire, missfire ,nofire batteries lol .

Wow, never heard of those Samsung units.

I posted this somewhere else but this is the info. I had gathered on the PF vs. the PD and was just me copy and pasting so none of these comments come from me:

Different chemistry to the PD. LiNiCOMnO2. The PD has Lithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminium core and the PF has a Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide core. The PF chemisty should be better for longer high drain applications and should be less prone to damage over time.

The latest high drain 18650 li-ion cell released by Panasonic!
New generation of NCR18650PD!
Maximum 10A constant discharge current!

1. Minimum Capacity: 2750mAh (0.54A discharge at 20°C)
2. Typical Capacity: 2900mAh (0.54A discharge at 20°C)
3. Nominal Voltage: 3.6V
4. Discharge End Voltage: 2.5V
5. Standard Charging Current: 1.35A
6. Charging Voltage: 4.20±0.03V
7. Standard Charging Time: 4.0hours
8. Max. Continuous Discharging Current: 10A
9. Internal Resistance: less than 35mΩ
10. Weight: less than 47.0g

I hate vague information so I contacted orbtronics about it
this is the reply:

'Hi William,
Yes, that's the improved PD. It runs even cooler on high Amps, and improvement on voltage drop. Nothing significant. 30-40 mAh more in capacity as well.'

it just shows that any improvement they can make they will and panasonic is staying busy in the R&D dept

The Panasonic PF cells have several advantages:

1. Higher Capacity - 2900-2950

2. Lower Internal Resistance - (I measured 22 milliohms)

3. Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide - it is safer chemistry

Ahh, like the safer chemistry.
Seems like their always another Panasonic cel coming out. What a great way to make a serious laptop battery pack.
Don't understand why some are always looking for the cheapest batteries for their expensive units. After all, they aren't THAT expensive.
Sounds like you are doing OK in the battery sales Larry. Best wishes for you. HAve never heard a member complain about what you offer. It's important that they know you only sell GENUINE cells. No games.

The fact that they can hit 20A discharge is kind of incredible... nowhere near needing that yet, but good to know which battery to pick.

He also offers a nipple enhancement/augmentation service ;)

Pretty sure that kind of stuff is illegal in the US now days

Nipple enhancement is a cash-cow business.

:yh:

Larry

P.S. our positive terminals are soldered,

which makes the cell shorter (66 mm) than the add-on terminals.

That means that they fit more lights without mods.
