ARCTIC HOST feeler! interested? READ

From my understanding there will be a flat area for the driver and a place for the voltage monitor to slide into that will hold it at the proper height.

Enough room for 2 Drivers? Both nicely heat sinked... Thats the main question IMO...

Yes, I would imagine so. The arctic is huge, and the drivers are tiny. Pontiac was also talking about plenty if spare room. So I'm sure it would not ve a provken

:(

But i take great pleasure in de-railling threads... :(

I'm only really subscribed to this because i really want to see how they turn out, every now and again i see something i can comment on, so i comment on it.

Just want to make sure everybody stays focused on this sick host:yh:

Oh yeah, and glad i had something for you to comment on:beer:

if dtr can do it in an eghemus 14650 host with 2 flexdrives, I think we can just fine in this host

and then again DTR's basically a prodigy of the way of the 445.

anyhow, we'll all see how it turns out

Do we have any idea of a timeline? I'm in no rush, just curious. I haven't been keeping up with the thread, its gotten huge. I re-check the first post, but didn't see anything there...

Nope. I will update the thread everyone I promise. But there's not much new to post . No timeline and no set price. He said estimated price was about $75-100.

^^^ this is some funny stuff  but let's make sure to stay on topic as there is a huge potential for some serious thread derailment:D back to the "Antarctic" :)

No one d-railed the thread. Don't harass people for making A Joke. The jokes people add are what make threads worth reading. It wasn't d-railed...:yabbmad:

JaiNobeZ IMO can joke all they want...

PS hey JakeGT can you update the OP and add all the pics of the design on there? Would be cool to see them in one place. If it's to much work NvM.

Sorry for the no updates for a while, I picked up a weekend job finishing the inside of a cabin up and it's turned into a week-weekend job...

I'm not even going to attempt to put a date on these just yet, but as the time gets closer I'll let you all know to prepare the bank accounts :D

There will defiantly be room to sink two drivers in this behemoth. What I am planning is a tray that holds the voltage monitor circuit/switch with space underneath for a set of drivers. The entire "tray" will slide into the middle of the host to keep from twisting any wires up too bad. I'll be making a prototype soon to test all of this stuff out first though.

I'm thinking now that it would probably be best for the voltage regulator to be an option, as it's going to add a bit to the final cost of everything. I'll have to talk with Jib and Jake about where or who the voltage boards will be coming from though. You will need a voltage board if you want a side clicky/momentary though, Jib nicely solved the problem of using a small low current switch in place of a massive high current switch for me. Those things are pricey and hard to fit!

I'll work out the best way to handle payments and such when the time comes.

And I'll still be working on this project, even when it doesn't look like I am :shhh:
Thanks for the patience guys!

NO Rush, Take your time in the designing, we appreciate the time your taking and do not want anything rushed. If anything take extra time fine tuning it man honestly I think everyone agrees...Awesome Job Bud

I definately agree you cant rush something like this especially with the complexities involved. Its probably already stated in the thred somewhere but i couldn't find it... Is the side clicky/momentary board going to be available for everyone or only those who order and are all the hosts going to be iniatially set for a side clicky and if so what size button will it be? The last question may be have been asked to far ahead of time but its just me thinking of stuff ahead of time...

The voltage monitor circuit would only be for this host ... It will probably be too big/custom to fit in any other host. For now the v-mon will be optional and the basic host will not have the holes needed for it.

Ok thanks, so the host we be provisioned to accept the voltage monitor but we would have to modify the host (with a hole) so we could use it. This is would be a first for me (side clicky) and I just wanted to get all the details straight so when it comes time to put it together I know what to do..

I may have a new idea and possible lead on a good driver for this build that you all may not know about. I can't give any more info now, but I will let you all know when I see what we got goin here, and post it in this thread. But all I am saying is i may have a good driver for this build.
