Anyone interested in 493nm 200mW single mode?

The Price of those Diodes cost two times Higher than a New DPSS 488nm Laser.

This is the Diode:

...yes.

What (if any) is the intended use of 493nm? I'm stumped.

Edit: It's a 488nm diode (±5nm)

Sounds like one more Unicorn is going to become more commonplace in the forum. Can't wait to read people reviews on it once it becomes reasonably priced for us hobbyists. :D

Ahhh i see where we're going here ;)

So overdriven by company terms would yield ~493nm, overdriven by OUR terms... What a nice shade of cyan we'll have!

Edit: if they do go down, I'd overdrive one, and UNDERdrive the other, 483nm sounds pretty good to me, even in low powers.

Here is the translation from eytyxhs' link:

2012/4/16 Submitted Date: Nichia has started providing engineering samples of the laser diode "NDS4216E" of high-power single-mode. For oscillating a continuous wave (Sky Blue) 488nm at 25 ℃. Because the request to the higher output was greater from the output of the conventional product was 50mW, it has developed a product of 200mW. 5.6mm diameter size.
And biotechnology and other applications for flow cytometry, it is assumed to replace the Ar laser of 488nm.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
25 Celsius is only 77 Fahrenheit. Is the output color affected by temp or current?
That is still a lot of money for a exotic color diode. Who ever build this diode in a laser will have the bragging rights of the first 488nm handheld laser on this forum.
They are selling a BD diode at 5mW for 1.435.00€ (~1.700.00$) :wtf:
Lol imagine if you buy this diode and you accidently kill it due to static electricity :p then you are absolutely f**k*d lol:horse:
Greetings,,
