Aluminium thread lubrication

Hey all.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good grease or lubrication for aluminium threads.

It's to reduce wear on the threaded battery compartment on a not-so-precision-engineered portable laser.

It's a DL Hulk style model.

I tried some grease I found in the garage, but that made things a bit worse in that it felt a bit rougher!

I cleaned it all off straight away and now need a proper solution.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

JL -- I think that is the stuff we used to call Cramolin. Good stuff.
That's what I use.

i found some chap stick and i tested it out on a spare flashlight and it works great! it gets ride of all grinding and make the threads smoother and easier to screw

Along the lines of the petroleum grease products, I'm sure the usual "bulb grease" used for automotive bulb contacts would work just as well... you can go to an auto parts store and buy a little packet for $1.

Buy some high quality grease.
Try Militec-1, super high quality grease for your super high quality laser(well, it's made for military applications :D)
Militec-1 forms a molecular bond to the metal you apply it on.
