Aixiz driver with which diode.

I bought the aixiz 445nm assembly kit without a diode on eBay.. I also bought a 100mw 405nm diode. After hours of reading I don't think the diode I bought will work.. anyone know which diode can be used for the aixiz kit. I would like it to be 445/405nm. Thanks

Dude, if it's "445nm module assembly kit", it did not occur to you that it MIGHT be for a 445nm diode?

It even says down there, 1W 445nm suitable driver.

No offense, but if you cannot figure THAT out (not even "figure", more like "read the damn thing"), how can one supposed to trust you with a Class IV laser device?

   Agreed.

It does say its a 405nm laser as well. This is where I'm confused
Where?

It says it's a 445nm laser module kit.

There is only one model of 445nm diode out there, and whichever diode you get, it will work.

405nm diodes will not work, they will get destroyed, because they cannot take as much current as 445nm diodes can.

It's as simple as that.

Why did you buy the kit if you didn't know how to use it or what it even works with in the first place?

Read a little bit.. its farther down the page.. I do believe I'm in the tutorials, help and repair section... if your not going to help don't reply..

It is incredibly difficult to help somebody who does not want to listen.

I have told you it will work for 445nm diodes, not with 405nm diodes. What is the problem now?

"Help those who help themselves" is common motto around here.

You have purchased some Do it yourself kit, and expected to understand how to work on it afterwards?

Not sure about you, but when I am about to buy something, I first spend about whole afternoon on the internet researching on all available options regarding my funds, then read about few dozen tutorials/reviews/others on them to find out which is the single best one I can get for my money.

If you had done that, this whole discussion could have been avoided and you could've had a working laser a long time ago.

Think about that next time you're about to buy something that "sounds cool, I'll just figure it out on the way".

What I see is a driver that can run either a 405 diode or a 445 diode
at 300mW to 1000mW what I don't see is a pot on the driver so you
can adjust the current out, am I just missing it and it's there ?

This driver should work for you if it has an adjustable output ;)
and if it doesn't you can always swap out a resistor on the board
to create the output you want, you just have to find the right
resistor to change.

If this doesn't work for you I know where you can get a proper driver.

Um I would rather just buy another diode that will work fine with the driver board. I just don't know which one I need.
Thanks Flaminpyro.

varikonniemi from Finland is also having similar issues.
This driver has been used w/o problrms by DTR-there is no pot.
Needs to be used w/6X or 445(@~800mW). The guy from Finland sez his gets hot and shuts down -he is trying to feed it 3A. I told him to join the forums and do some studying...hmmmm?? here are pics from aixiz...

This is a complete kit needed to assemble a 445nm laser module except for the diode.

You get the following:
1 - AixiZ module case including ring, acrylic lens, spring, diode mount and end case
1 - 405-455nm 1W compatible driver board
1 - AR coated specialty AixiZ lens for 405-455nm laser diodes

Ehmmm it is a 445 kit but you get a 405-445 driver... means it's a 445 kit not a 405 kit right ?
