Please go back and read my posts in order and it will all be clear....
Really you can just start with this one....
Soooooooo when that wasn't working as I thought I came up with this......
Because I had to do something, Right ?
Now can you please give the whole "troll" thing a rest already, Please ?
Based on what evaluation criteria?
Accutronitis are you making a joke about the soapy water?
If it's a joke you are making then you should say so when asked, because if you carry on with it then it looks like trolling.....the reason why is because thousands of people who are not posting are reading and we hate to give bad information so if it's meant as a joke please say so right away.
p.s. Laser lens cleaning is tricky and not all lens are the same, acrylics I hate to even touch and a camel hair brush....lol I am laughing because I know that would ruin them, but some new hobbyist looking for info may not know any better and may ruin their lens, so if you are venting frustration with levity then please make that clear when first asked so we don't give anyone bad information, and never joke about safety, laser safety is serious and must be respected at all times, god forbid someone gets hurt from something they read on the internet, but it won't be here.
looking at the lens surface under a 40x stereomicroscope with light above and below it, And looking at the laser passing through the lens projected on a wall after cleaning, is there a better way to evaluate how clean a lens is than looking at it ?Based on what evaluation criteria?
I 100% agree with that.... Only the first time I tried it with my single glass lens I didn't disassemble it by taking out the one retaining ring and removing the single glass lens but I was sure everything was 100% dry before first looking at it under a 40x stereo microscope and then testing it in the laser......If you leave any kind of soap residue on the inside surface of that lens then your diode could cause it to outgas and deposit on the diode's window.
I remember a commercial for a no water spot dish soap, and Windex is supposed to be streak free, but we are talking about more than the cost of the lens here, I would like to know for sure, although I am going to try out the SEBP, but if I washed with water and soap I would disassemble the lens and be sure everything is dry before screwing it into my laser.
This would be especially important with a 3 element lens.
What could go wrong?

I said that I've tried so far, Not the best there is or will ever be, Come on stop trying to put words in my mouth....I've got a problem with your cleaning method:
have you heard of water spots? Not everyone has distilled water coming from the tap like you claim to have.
I've got 2 problems with your evaluation method:
What other cleaning methods have you compared it to thusfar? Did you try this one, and the clay, and determine "this is the best one", or are there others?
What is your sample size? One lens?
It's part of the LPF initiation to have him pound you down
