Gas lasers like this one run without worry about duty/rest cycle- no batteries to ever replace- great beam quality. Nicer color too IMO.- everyone should have a gas laser or two.

Was that for real? A HeNe laser w/ power supply for $29?? Huh? I've never seen any HeNe going for that cheap. Unless it was for a 0.000025mW or something. The ebay item isn't coming up anymore.
"The buyer got a great deal"
Yes i did....i think im going to turn this into the desktop lamp that jayrob made the tutorial for i really need a nice lamp for my desk....so what better than a laser!
Very nice! how come yours has a green beam? i thought HeNe only made red?

I've got a bare-tube, green HeNe listed at the link below
Peace,

I wasn't questioning your honor, Sir. I'm just surprised at the price. It's ads like that (w/ low prices) that make me think it's a scam or something. I mean, a HeNe laser ready to go for $29?? It's almost unbelieveable.I would not have posted it if it wasn't real. The buyer got a great deal

HeNes are cheap if you're patient (for small tubes anyway) they regularly go for $20, even complete ones. Sure you can easily spend a lot on one, but they can be had for much less if you keep an eye out
I got a small uniphase a while ago which cost me about $30 total for the tube and psu but have since sold it
