8 line TUNABLE argon

Honestly, this is my new favorite gas for interesting-ness.

I'll see if I can take some pics tonight, got some things to do with the dorm, then headed out. Though the gal loves the laser collection, so I might snap some while she's checking it out.

I expected more people to be all over this. I mean how many times do tunable lasers show up here? Either way, I love the thing.

People not already initiated into gas lasers tend to be oblivious to them.

I am looking to get into gas lasers, and I'm pretty sure my first will be Argon - 488nm is a beautiful color. I have been reading up on them, but it's still like a foreign language to me.

I was going to give you crap last night for not posting as you "promised" but you indeed delivered. That video was pretty damned amazing.

Its Ghetto for sure but it "works" I may try to refine this and make a more permanent structure with a fine adjust gear for the mirror.

Haha! Totally ghetto but you nailed the principle.

Simple but effective isn't it.

Human ingenuity, ha. Nice work Sgt!

Now if only I could have razor blades in my room...

Damn military being stupid once again! Yeah I used an exacto for the slit. Tried to color it black to help avoid any bleeding colors. I could get it steady with both hands but was only using one and filming with the other.

I just want to set something up for my He-Ne's. Or I may just wait until I get proficient with optics and just set something up on my own. Just not at that point yet, and my time is pretty much eaten up by work or training or the gal. No hobby study time :p

Anyway, night folks, I'll eventually get some pictures...

Great job Speedy. Now just refine it so I copy it:D

Hey Bloom we are still waiting for pictures of the laser:drool:

This is really awesome! I'm jealous.

Can you take some pictures of the laser and all of its lines, for a side by side comparison?
