Here it is, my first hand held laser build.

I built this one using the Hotlights kit with a S06J diode, micro boost drive set to 500mA with a 22600 battery stuffed inside. Light exits through a G-1 lens. DTR is right on in his review when he tells you that this battery is the perfect fit for this little host.

Following DTR's recommendation, I cut the clicky retainer down about 1/2" to allow for more room and then super glued it in place so that the battery does not push it forward toward the heat sink when the end cap is screwed tight.

I did not bother taking pictures during the build since DTR already covers that in his reviews and builds. I did snap a few pictures along the way though.

Here is a few of the finished product.

This build generates virtually no heat. That's a good thing too, since I did not sink the driver.

And now for the part everyone is probably waiting for, the LPM test. Look how stable this setup is. Virtually no fluctuation at all

And a few beamshots. No long exposures here, just an iPhone until I get a new SD card for my d1000.

I hope you all enjoyed looking as much as I enjoyed building it. I see many more builds in my near future!

Nice build and the color of the host match the BR very well. :gj:
Now you must build a red hotlight for a red diode.

Nice build. I bought one of those as well as one of his trustfire kits. I had planned on using the trustfire for my 12x build and the hotlights for a PHR but I may change my mind after seeing the heatsink size difference. I kinda hate to waste the trustfire host on a PHT build though since it's a good looking host IMO at least.

Very nice. Glad to see you got it all up and running.;)

The one about this thread. I saw it. I replied here.

Nah one about diode polarity. My $900 snap on DMM (it's cat4 ready for vehicle hybrid systems, hence the hefty price tag) wouldn't give me a good mV reading checking diode polarity. So, I ASSumed it was the same as a PHR and took a stab. Luckily, it's the same whew

Not used would be the case pin and that goes to the driver negative input.

Nice build! That S0J6 diode seems to be more efficient than my Lite-on 12x diode. I 'only' got 756mW @ 550mA with a microboost driver.

No long exposures? you got a lighthouse bulb in that table lamp?

What lens are you using with your hotlights kit?

Nice build btw.

Actually light houses are my other hobby, so yes, naturally I would put a light house bulb in my reading lamp.

And the lens is a G-1.
