638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery + 660nm & 638nm combo gallery

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Cheers for the supportive comment, bruce:). Next year I'd like to gradually upgrade to outdoor background with a more natural level (green grass and blue river/lake style) to achieve another beam refreshment.

Perhaps if you reach the 445-460th post, there's some nice opportunity to introduce purely blue-based beam show dedicated to this by far most produced wavelength section. Should have done that myself, I guess... in matter of fact I will at some stage:).

P.S. 650th post, time to think of the appropriate beam production...coming soon...before I reach the 660th post!

.

Those are nice red beams. I have always have a warm heart for red laser. The color is magical. :)

I have used an Opnext 170mW 638nm diode in my Ehgemus build. It was one of the highest power 638nm single mode laserdiode. The dot looks much better than the 300/500mW Mitsubishi diodes.

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Thank you vey much, Blord:).

I believe this Christmas is going to be magical, too;). I wrote a letter to Santa Claus asking him for a single mode cherry red laser, looking exactly like your epic Ehgemus build:D. Well, there's still enough time before the day the Xmas tree gets loaded with presents, but I have a strong feeling I'll see the shining bright red glory even before that day!

Until then let the Mitsubishi brothers shine...

I love the way your camera picks up the dots! My iPhone sees it as a big blob of red :P Nice builds and congrats on 638 posts :D

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Thanks, NKO29:). The star(burst) effect is really nice, adds a good photo extension thanks to a longer exposure time chosen before the shot's taken. Congrats on your MS-V4 Mitsu build, a strong performing diode in a hot looking host (by sinner, the man!).

You're a gentleman, sinner:beer:. My collection is nearly completed, on the other side I'm sure there are other members who have more precious collectibles and would deserve more attention:).

Congrats on crossing the 2000th post. Once you get to the 2013/2014th symbolical mark, wish your products to be made by you and proudly held by other forum members for at least another decade:beer:.

I see that the Ehgemus 638nm laser has arrived. Your pictures are awesome.
Keep up the good work. :)

Thanks

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Thanks for the kind words, everyone:).

The word play is just there to make the pic description a bit more juicy, I guess:D. Early next year I'd like to get myself some decent single mode 635-638nm beamer in a right looking host, will see if there'll be certain good builders/members around who can help me with this matter. It'd be nice to see a cherry red round dot instead of a wide line for a change:p.

grainde: man, you do know them 2 red 1W Krytons deserve some bloody gallery presentation in Multimedia or Red lasers section, don't you:D. Can't wait to see them!

Mr.G.............

I can ...and have tamed the P-73 for a projector application, I started the " Grail Thread" ....." Over There ".....Optically...thought challenging....it is based upon precise alignment between the LD and a 2mm collimation aspherical lens....then add a 6X Cylinderical lens set.... CAN this be reduced in size for a HH ????

MAYBE !!!

I guess it depends on your tolerance for somewhat larger builds !!!...and a smaller amount in the Ole $$$ War Chest hahaha :eg::eg::eg:

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Blord: Single mode 638nm was a must to have a diversity in my collection within the red wavelength:). The Ehgemus laser you've built does the job up to the letter with a nice hell-warm red beam!

me roar:evil:

CDBEAM777: Trying to imagine the duel of a dark heaven-ish blue vs. devilish red as I type this:eg:.

$$$ is the key part to be underscored here:undecided:. Next year I'll focus my attention on getting yellow and light blue treats, which won't be a cheap business at all. But who knows what the laser future brings me, who knows...:shhh:

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Another 638-650-660nm gallery update:). Today, after darkness took over and skies became clear with some slight ground frost developing, I've decided to take 2x638nm and 2x660nm lasers out and tried some beam combinations.

10 pics of quadruple invasion follow;).
