Since I've managed to get to 638th post which number wise represents the cherry red wavelength, I've decided to celebrate this little occasion with capturing the double 500mW Mitsubishi diodes pushed to 1W output with G2 lens present in the 2 lovely builds I own to this date:

MS-V1 "The Greed" by Blord and minisabre V2 by danefex.

The following gallery consists of 15 pictures I managed to put together using Nikon D5200. It's as fresh as it gets, today's date the 7th of December. All shots were taken outside at relatively mild and cloudy weather conditions.

Here we go:).

Edit: Especially like the "crawling hell" pic, it looks like lava...

Happy 638th gismo!
Spectacular beam shots, as always.
It's kind of refreshing to see some "red" beams for a change!

Sweet pics Gismo! Thanks for sharing. Happy 638th post  Nice idea to make it a tribute to the 638nm wavelength :D

You have a certain something when your describing lasers. I always like to read what you have to say. Almost poetic .

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Thanks for the kind words, everyone:).

The word play is just there to make the pic description a bit more juicy, I guess:D. Early next year I'd like to get myself some decent single mode 635-638nm beamer in a right looking host, will see if there'll be certain good builders/members around who can help me with this matter. It'd be nice to see a cherry red round dot instead of a wide line for a change:p.

grainde: man, you do know them 2 red 1W Krytons deserve some bloody gallery presentation in Multimedia or Red lasers section, don't you:D. Can't wait to see them!

I've been thinking the same thing. over a long enough distance, not that far really, my 280mW 660's got more beam intensity, love to see the same but in 638

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Interesting. Blord paid a lot for the diode he used, I wonder what the difference is. I also found this on Lazerer's site: Opnext HL6388MG 250mW 638nm Orange Red Laser Diode

they carry the same diodes DTR has, and mention single mode on them, but also have the ones I linked to, though no mention of mode is made and they are out of stock currently. I wonder if they are single or multi-mode. It just says opnext 250mW

Good shots! Red wavelength still has that special magic.

:thanks:, millirad! Did the cherry red, perhaps should do some bloody red with the 650-660th post coming:). And then combine them reds altogether:thinking:.

Re: 638th post: a double 1W outdoor beam gallery

Hey Gismo,
I think the first is my favorite is the first one and the "Hell" sequence ones are very interesting. 638 posts is a nice milestone. Part of the "Gismo Style" is the industrial look of concrete, metal and high powered lasers. Always great stuff! I guess I should have done a 405nm one since I just passed that amount of posts. Some of the newer members that have been on the forum a few months should be shooting 808nm or higher tributes since they have accumulated that many posts in few months.
