Hello community!
Today I finally put my "sayno" 635nm 40mW ebay diode into a host!
I used the driver from a greenie ebay pointer, because it is a negative regulator,
and these diodes are case positive, just like IR diodes.
Furthermore, the diode's pinout is the same as the IR pump diode's.
All I had to do was figure out the driver's output current and pot-mod
it for a comfortable ~110mA.
So there you have it, diode's pins trimmed to size, into an Aixiz-module you go.
And that "collar" is the original "heatsink" from the host.
Other side.
I superglued a support to the driver board, so I don't have to fear about stressing
the diode's pins when pushing the button. Spring trimmed.
Everthing put back together.
Size comparison.
Ta-daaaah!!
Runs off a 14500.
Jealous much?
