594 vs 589 and other neat shots

First we have some comparisons between 589 and 594. An OBVIOUS difference.

The hard part here was using the shutter to block the 589, that's obviously not the normal output

Look at a central point between the two dots.

Who knows, maybe my eyes are sensitive to this part of the spectrum. I see the different when they're side by side only. That applies to everything from 589 to 685. That being said, I can't see the difference well between 520 and 532 even side by side, unless I'm looking at the dot itself, with the lights on.

The difference is hard to capture in pictures but is very evident in person.

The colors show up pretty well but like bloom's with yellows you have to look towards the hosts to see the real colors.


No 520nm yet though. Probably my next build in the fall. Need to get my Ophir and ARG meter going first.

Glad you liked it My phone pics up the 520 with lights on, and when they're off, all greens from 520-543 look the same. Even the 514 line on my tunable is barely different. I guess I'll have to eventually get a DSLR or something.

I know the feeling on next build talk... Wavelength hunting begins to die down after you've conquered most...only thing left really is 561nm and 607nm.

I'm starting to understand why some vets barely pop in and out. I'm just glad I love to build, as I just build to build and keep my hands busy, and sell off what I make. Main reason I take any opportunity to take any custom order someone mentions. Plus I save up whatever's gained from it to slowly save for a new wavelength.

It's fun still, that's all that matters

I haven't been lucky enough to experience any golden yellow goodness as yet. But, to my eyes, there is a clear difference between my cool-running 115mW 520nm and my 100mW 532nm. Sure, it's not much to most people, but with my experience in color theory and as a photographer, it's clear to me.
