That's just a beamsplitter. In order to combine light with one, you need a POLARIZED beam splitter :)

Right now it's splitting all input light. So if you tried using it, you'd just get two lasers split 50/50.

You need one that splits based on polarization. A laser diode rotated one way will pass through one of these, rotated another, and reflected. That's how we combine beams using a POLARIZED beamsplitter. The optic linked will do nothing for you, and only frustrate you.

Yikes their polarized splitter is $100 and change before discount. I suppose it's not bad considering retail for one of that quality.
 
100$? Mind posting a link? The price i see is 35$..or are you not talking about the broadband coated?
