So the diffraction grading in the top can be removed to yield a single beam right. I like the idea of the diffraction grading but i also want to be able to point with it. :yh:

I got my 40mW pointer today, and it's better than I expected! I am very impressed with the quality of the host, I have 2 'ebay special' pointers and this one is much cleaner and solid. The dot is very bright and very round I can clearly see the beam at 90deg in my apt during sunset brightness levels, it's very tight and looks even better in the dark.

Special thanks to DJNY for answering my stupid noob questions over PM! I could not the the life of me figure out which way the battery is supposed to go in, and I didn't want to fry it by doing it wrong. The AAA goes '+' inside the body towards the head, battery '-' goes to the tailcap. Also putting it in the other way will not kill the laser, so I had nothing to worry about except my silly noobishness

Your 30mW must be more than 50-55mW

Hey, what are the requirements on the AAA to power it? My Rechargeable AAAs are really big and get stuck and also have much less current than the one you included. If I am correct though, the one you included cannot be recharged. So is there a rechargeable version of the higher current AAA?

For high current applications I use the Sanyo Eneloops AA/AAA batteries. I use them for my flashlight and they can provide 2A with ease. And they won't lose much energy when they are not in use unlike the normal NiMH batteries.

I don´t use rechargeable batts with my lasers, this batts works the best for me and they are cheap!
