Definitely not portable, its a 445nm pumped DPSS labby ;) About $2K.

Thanks SM! This is definitely one more people should have

<$3,000

Whoa wait, who's spreading the rumor that it can't be portable?

Does anyone know the exact DPSS process used?

Awesome detailed review.
Especially love how the background used in a shot detract from how bland a PGL-III-C looks :D

Great laser , but by GOD!
That wavelength...
ITS SNOT COLORED!!!

Raffle, the DPSS queen, knows :p

It is portable if you know what you're doing, but so are CO2 lasers (it's been done here before) but you wouldn't consider it portable ;)

Re: 60mW 561nm PGL-III-C Review

It's that fancy 445nm pumped Pr:pAYAC process. I don't have a clue as to how that one works.

Well considering I asked specifically for a module "that I plan to put into a portable system" they sent me a quote ;)

Back to the thread: I really didn't like how I made my 589 or lasever 473 (both III-C's) look, its not really a nice host as it is... I'd really like to get it polished actually.

The color is really odd. You know how 445's make the room look purple, but the spot is definitely blue? This one's spot is yellow but everything else is undoubtedly green.

Excellent review. I'm curious about one thing. How's the safety pin on it? The one on my 589 if you look at it wrong loses contact. I'm probably going to make my own replacement next time I order stuff from Digikey.

Re: 60mW 561nm PGL-III-C Review

It works just fine for me. Though my 589 has a problem with it's safety pin because it fell off a table...

Thanks for nice pics! Lovely color the 561nM. Do you know if this color is very different from 556nM? Or are they similar?

Thanks,
Filip
