5 Watt Laser Power Meter

Thank you nospin, great meter!!!

I recommend people to get the one with the red display cover, cause while measure a high powered greenie with the green filtering goggles it is hard to see the blue display.

Normally, I prefer a red display and I worried about this too when I ordered my LPM so I asked nospin about the visibility. He replied:
I have red and green tinted goggles and the best visibility color for the display is red
but the blue is still ok
Since my goggles are blue (for red blocking) and orange (for both blue and for green blocking) I finally ordered the blue display and it's very visible with both sets of goggles. I was afraid the red display would be completely blocked by the blue goggles whereas I thought maybe the blue display would be of a wide enough spectrum that it would be visible with both types of goggles. So far, I'm happy with my choice of blue display. As I get more lasers and possibly different goggles, maybe that will change. :)

I hear ya CoherentRays!

Lol I think I´m going to have a use for the crappy Arctic goggles now :o

Ya I specifically chose the red display because I knew I would be testing mainly blue and green lasers.

may i know what's the OD level of your orange goggles?

My orange goggles are Eagle Pair, a cheapie model ($30 US) that I got off ebay. They are stamped 200-540 nm OD > 4 CE. I can barely see the focused dot of my 22 mW greenie (532 nm) with the goggles and the focused dot of my 1200 mW yorbesal 445 nm laser is very comfortable to look at, even close up on a white wall. Without the goggles the green is too bright to look at for even a second, and I haven't used the blue laser indoors without goggles.
