473nm Blue Modules

What about talking about 473nm blue modules :D?

ZRTMWA, you can always use a pot to tune the green to mix it with the bluray to get a nice blue-ish colour.

That's the hardest part of the build...

Getting perfect beam alignment. The lasers have to be lined up not only at the dot, but also at the aperture. They you will have a nice beam...

sightfx's, kit is a work of art!
Jay

The first time I saw this kit I thought it was a mini motor that was powered by lasers. Jayrob, You built sightfx's kit right? Have you shined any of these out at night? Can you see the beams come apart far up in the sky? You should make a youtube video of sightfx's kit.

Back to the 473nm modules. If you really wanted one bad, you could buy an Opto 473nm RPL carefully smash everything except the module and its driver, with a hammer. Feel free to put in new host.

Yeah... sorry about that Niko...

I did a search for 473nm modules and didn't find anything worth mentioning.

That would be nice to be able to get the modules the same as we get 532nm modules! I'll e-mail Susie and see what she has to say about it...
Jay

I contacted both Susie from o-like, as well as Frank from Viasho, and both came back with a negative. Frank has modules, but not the small 12mm type. Theirs are the larger labby ones as you have seen...
Jay

Chances of getting them in 12mm modules are low. If you are going to get them they will be the same size as the larger O-like modules. they are more complicated than green DPSS and usually use a c-mount diode. So they need more cooling as well as more optics. It would be difficult to fit one inside something as small as 12mm.

Frank from Viasho just e-mailed me back again and said that they have a 12mm size 473nm module, but only 5mW's.

At which I said, I would be interested, what is the pricing?

I am waiting for his response...
Jay

Well a 5mW CNI blue cost $315 in the GB right? I don't feel like emailing CNI but I would guess $100-$200 less than what that costs normally (non GB). Is Viasho a supplier for CNI?

If Viasho sells at the same prices like CNI (Honestly I dont have any clue about their prices) than I would guess 275-295 USD.

Frank from Viasho just got back to me with the price and size of the 473nm module...

It's a 10mW 473nm module. The size is 20mm in diameter X 46mm long. (not 12mm, he was mistaken at first)

The price is not cheap. But I'm guessing the quality is probably pretty good.

$400 dollars.
Jay

$400......hmmm, i think for that i will just buy a complete build rather than risking it with a module :undecided:
