That's an array I'd bet, given away by the off center lens.

A number of single mode 405nm diodes combined together would be awesome, I've bought a hand full of S06J diodes to do that, single modes sure pack a lot of power in a tiny spot and travel a long way without spreading much.

Xia at Aixiz just spoke to me. She thinks she has some 3 Watt 405 modules, and said she will call me back today.

She got back to me just now. Lots of 450 modules. I asked again about the 4 watt 405's.

She said Chuck must of transposed the numbers. :(
Sorry everyone. I was hoping it was true. Maybe someday.

Keep us posted Sir, I'd love to see your build.

I'd glady trade the 3 watt 9mm 445 dioide in my zerolasr for a 3 watt 405 with similar beam specs. I love that color

From the specs it says output polarization is horizontal and vertical - makes me think of some arrangement where they knife-edged a bunch of diodes in both rotations and then combined the result using a PBS cube.

If done properly it will still set the drapes on fire with zero effort though.

I have my doubts in seriously more powerful 405 nm diodes hitting the market though, as the application of writing blu-ray discs is pretty much mature. Perhaps there could be more powerful ones if uhd-bluray-writers come along, but i doubt those will be very popular since the public is more or less done with the clumsy 12-cm disc format in general.
