3D printers

I guess I will update. I have everything I need as far as I am aware. I started building my 3D printer the other day, and it's going alright I suppose. I have a few tutorials I am following that are helping me out. A really tough part about this though is that there are so many different variations to different builds. So while one tutorial is telling me one thing the other tutorial is telling me a different thing. The only thing I can do is keep working on it a little at a time. I need to make sure I do everything right the first time so I don't have to go back to fix mistakes. Overall it really is fun to build. The finished product will be worth it (I hope).

Hope all goes well, I would like to eventually make a Rostock Max, but there are a few other big things that take priority before a printer (one being a laptop, which will be a good 1500$).

Ok, so I have a problem that is very irritating and has been holding me up for days. I'm sure the answer is probably simple, and when I get the answer I will feel like an idiot.

Ok, In the pictures I post below, the one on the left is supposed to go on the left. The one on the right is supposed to go on the right, according to every tutorial I see. Mine appear to be backwards. I have no idea how or why this is. They will only fit on the side they are supposed to if I put them on backwards, but if I put them on backwards the rods do not line up.

I don't know why mine would be backwards so that's why I'm here to ask.

Not quite sure I understand the problem.. Can you not just flip the part in the middle 180 degrees?
 
Yeah, I don't think that's the problem. Like I said maybe the answer is really simple. But I haven't had sleep in a while, and maybe that's the reason my brain isn't working.

I still don't understand. What exactly is the problem? The assembly looks fine to me from what I can see from your image. What are the red arrows pointing to? What are the "things" that should go there? Why are there only one arrow on one assembly and two on the other? It doesn't look like the arrows are pointing to anything at all to me.. :undecided:

EDIT: Okay I thing I understand more.. The arrows are pointing from where the thing is to where it should be? But I still don't get why you can't just flip it upside down if it's just that the things that are on the bottom should be on top..

EDIT 2: Does it even matter if the holes are on the top or bottom? They are still mounted to the threaded rod either way and will move with the z axis. Could just be how your parts are designed. Same with the motor , it doesn't matter if it's installed one way or the other, the gear will be in the same place.

would not work from pc but would work off SD card and would not link up to pc looks like card may be bad tried on 3 pc windows 8 and 7 will not work! payed $830

Did you install the drivers successfully?

I can hook it up and it will not find it at all.
will not and does not ask for new hard wear ,I get 0

Yes, the arrows are pointing to where the things should be. I just don't understand why mine are different than other tutorials. I guess it wouldn't matter if the threads are on the bottom or top. I just figure since its on top in the tutorials, that's the way it should be. I think the only problem with having the threads on the bottom is that it wont be able to print as high up. I'm pretty sure.
