[quote author=Benm link=1204465555/0#7 date=1204741997]So what is the real application of this device, and what should we expect?

Sharks that can switch the friggin lasers tied to their heads on and off by just thinking about it? ::)

It's pretty revolutionary. I imagine it would work wonders for pilots but as for high G-force environments, somehow I doubt it'll be too easy to implement.

Yes, and uh...

Bad for pilots. Simple reason... if the entire flight process becomes conscious, then the unconcious reflex actions that the military so loves it's troops to have must become conscious rections, thereby actually slowing the troop's reaction.

That's why the military hasn't developed this already. Remember, the military is ALWAYS about 20 years ahead of anything we see.

Not exactly the same idea, but pretty cool for gaming :)

Thanks for the comment. But i just didnt understand ANYTHING you said :D

I am soo getting one :D
Does anyone have it,and can confirm any of their claims ?

i was so close to buying one of these.. i found one for 150$ online. from everything i have seen about it, it really does work.. to a point. the problem was i just couldnt find any solid reviews with real answers. some people said the could control it while others said it made random movements. it still looks very cool though. i guess it just depends on the user. i think i might just wait intil 2nd gen comes out. but if i actually do buy it ill be sure to post it.

Amazon, I might be picking one of these up for Christmas.

EDIT: I just checked out the Emotiv, and I'll probably wait a couple months to see the reviews before I decide which one I want.

Jeez Christ,

Imagine playing Star Wars The Force Unleashed with that thing. That would be so muthaf'ckin' awsome...
I cannot wait for this to come somewhat cheaper, and more games compatible with it.

And here I was thinking 30" monitor was something.

Try to play Descent in a VR gyrosphere, LOL ..... i tried in a demo, years ago ..... and no, thanks, i don't need another turn :p :D

That was just about the greatest game series EVAR.

Oh, for this, it was a good game, yes ..... i played it lots of times ..... but, you know that in the game, the simulation involves no gravity, so you don't have an "up" and a "down" , right ? ..... then, just imagine it in a gyro, with a VR helmet on .....

When i ended the 5 minutes trial, i needed 20 or 30 seconds just for regain enough equilibre for walk away straight, and my friend said me that my face was "a bit tending to green", LOL
