When you get it back try some Glass ND filters similar
to these with your 2 Watt LPM now that you know the
output at 27.7 Deg C.
The ambient temperature is important for accuracy when
you do your tests...

I will look into the ND2 filters. I like the Ophir LPM of Smeerworst very much. So fast reading and 5Watt range.
The Ophir sensors are so fast they capture the maximum output in the very beginning.

Btw 27.7 Deg C. is quite warm in the room. My room temp is 20-21 Deg C.

Yeah I found that ~28 Deg C was a little too hot to do LPM testing.
I'm sure that OPHIR did not calibrate the 20C heads at that temp.
That does not mean your Laser did not hit 3W...;)

We hold the temperature in the shop for calibrations at 22 to 24
Deg C.

Well done!!!

That is a huge host...

No huge heating issues I can see with the LD. be careful with the driver. Make sure you've got plenty of Arctic silver on the parts that need sinking.
Lots of current.

+1 rep!!!

I call that the bike handle build!

Woah I missed this thread.

This sure was one of the most interesting hosts to work with!
First, I was surprised I wasn't asked to present my weapons import permit at the customs, because I'm pretty sure you can kill somebody with that thing *accidentally*

Second, the battery holder had a switch integrated into it, instead of the tailcap, and there is no case connection, both battery polarities are obtained through the battery holder terminals present on the side opposite of the switch.

Third, host doesn't come apart anywhere in the middle, only the retairner ring and tailcap. Could be a challenge working with it, but I see Blord managed just fine working with the pill that comes out of the front of the host. Good job, man!

There are many good builds from other reputable builders. They should deserve at least the same honor. I don't think a sticky will put things into the right perspective.

Why not ? it's a 3W build.
There was a time when 2W was awesome and got sticky's.

You´re going to see a even higherpowered 445nm single-diode built within the next few weeks :shhh:

As this is an awesome built here, there is no need for "sticky it" anyway!
