Will be purchasing some of these from DTR fairly soon now to upgrade my projectors. While the current 445/450 are pretty they are simply too violet for my tastes, and given they are projecting over busy crowds I need visibility.
I run into the same problem with LEDs. For DJ lights I typically retrofit with 10watt quad die Luxeon M royals. Fire up one of those in a dark room and everybody leaves. Problem is that light source is around 448nm, and simply doesn't have the 'kick' that 460-480 has. 460nm-480nm LEDs though in high power packages are next to impossible to find. Funny how the 462nm lasers are now readily obtainable.
