10x11.4mm buck-boost driver, miniaturized version

don't mind me I am very cheerful right now :D don't know why :D All kinds of crap swirl through my mind :D

Lol alright

I'd rather this discussion then the last one even if it's completely irrelevant... This thread has pretty much been derailed so horribly I doubt well get back on ( not your fault Foulmist :p )

haha if you have noticed this kind of stuff happens to most of the threads here. We start good and go completely off-road til the very end :D

your point is valid but please be aware the original 17mm version was the announced open source version. This one & the 12.6mm version had never had eagle files, just gerbers... if you notice the original 17mm has everything. & if you are just wanting one but don't want to buy one, fine, I have no problem, It really doesn't bother me, just want to point out the components cost about 7$ less than retail & digikey has shipping charges. Plus its assembled & ready to go, whereas you would have to assemble your own not to mention buying the PCB's your own. if you like I can help you with the open source version by sending you PCB's for it for free.

Just because Luke made an open source driver doesn't make every one of his designs subject to that from now on. he did originally post the files but posting them in the first place was a privilege & no where it said anything about staying for ever...

Like Luke, this is my last reply to this subject. hopefully we can get back on track now

Lukes words about squared version:
This is the 12.8x12.5mm square version of my driver

I am no electrical engineer (nor do I pretend to be one) but I see very little difference in it except for the shape and reshuffled components. Perhaps the experts not associated with selling this may offer their opinion. But to me it is simple:

A=B=C thus A=C

P.S. This is not about getting stuff for free, Anthot!. Please don't confuse my intent. I have repeatedly stated why I'm making a big deal out of this.

This is also a reply to your PM.

Since I've done all I could and wanted to persuade you and laserluke I'm finished here.

I'm very glad that, after all this discussion, this thread is on the right road again.
Thanks to a new requested agreement, the technical support for the original version of my driver will be provided by gillza.
Anyone interested could contact gillza directly.
Many thanks for your future support, gillza.

Luke I complement your sense of humor. But I do suggest you heed your own advice in one of the deleted posts (about personal growth).

Good luck.

I'm confused, are you speaking about your suggestion that the improvement of a new driver would be an opportunity for a personal growth?
Anyway, if you finally decide to provide a support you are welcome.
Many thanks again.

...no answer...
as i stated in my previous post i don't understand why those kind of gurus disappear when the discussion become technical
they also declare to be without technical competence BUT there are always here, in this technical discussion group.

Just logged in and saw that you are now selling the drivers =) Cool Ill take one!

BTW there are a zillion open source licenses. I happen to be a both a GNU/Linux and BSD programmer. Linux is GPL (can never change) like the Debian OS I am using now. This could just as well be an open source driver under the Apache License. Yeah you can change your mind later with the Apache license.

open licenses

I have been running this driver though pspice, KiCad and LTspice. Looks good ... unfortunately I can not find a model of a decent laser diode. Luke can you send me the parameters if you have some? I am just using a simulated current sink.

I should have my Ehgemus host in a few days. You sure this driver can fork out 2.2A? The 9mm runs at about 4.8V. Anyway Ill be sure to scope this thing. Look for ring, ripple etc.

All the best!

I think it will be able to run at 2.2A at 5V output in boost mode but that 's about the limit of it.

I am just wondering, Luke, did you make and test a prototype board of the new layout? I know the 17mm worked good but considering the change in the layout I think a few tests must be done before mass production.. :)

Thats actually impressive. As the voltage climbs its hard to pump out big current in a tiny chip. Well I got to run off to work. Here is a 3.5A boost I was working on last night. If you got LTspice you can play around with this. Its not playing nice. Ill fix it when I get home. http://Pastebin.com/92GEM4Ea 4.5A boost - Pastebin.com[/url] .Wanna see something really cool LT chip 100W buck-boost chip at 98% efficiency.

All the best

No Luke, realizing that you can't ask community to improve the driver for you and use the improvements for personal gain later, while denying others access, would be the personal growth for you.

I did not reply to you because, unfortunately for me, your lack of common sense successfully sucked me into trying to explain my point and not completing my tasks earlier, which I was forced to finish while absent from here.

No one doubted your electrical engineering skill set, and I never pretended to be one either. This was not the issue, so please don't try to sidestep the actual argument and if you do wish to continue this debate stay on the point.

P.S. Actually if after all this you are now trying to start a different argument, I am done talking with you. I'm putting you in my ignore list.
