1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

Goes without saying. But you are also really, going to want laser safety goggles if you plan on using this. This is appears even brighter to the naked eye then the 700mW green DPSS I used to own.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

Yobresal, how can you recommend a duty cycle of 45 s on/off when these beasts get HOT in like 10 seconds? No offense, but I am really curious about this matter!

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

No offence taken. From the limited time of experience we have had with these most have noticed that they operate "hot" without dying. I would expect a 405nm diode to die shortly after running at the temperatures that these diodes are running at but they don't. Also it takes much longer than 10 seconds for them to get "hot" if a heatsink is used about 2 and a half times that long.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

I see. That's really good to hear :)
I run ALL my lasers for no more than 20 seconds each time. So it is more than safe for my 445 :)

P.S Yobresal, you got a pm.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

I just got one from Yobresal that can run 30-45 sec no problem with that sink. The power is simply crazy. Here is a 35 sec meter run.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

with 445nm diodes I've worked with the driver is usually the thing that gets over heated rather than the diode itself. I'm more concerned about the drivers flexv5 and microboost and whatever else to die before the diode.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

Got mine today. Very pleased. I put a spring from another aixiz module behind the lens so it doesn't turn as easily. Do you see a problem with this?

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

The reason I do not include one is because once in the past the spring compessed down onto the diode window and scrathed it. It was a $200 12X diode. For that reason I no longer use them. I would rather have a somewhat loose lens then a F-ed diode. I use teflon tape on the threading of the lens most the time.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

Awesome deal. Its getting cold here in MI and Im getting ready to put away the rc car and fishing tackle and pick up some lasers. How does the dot look with these? Thanks.

Pete

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

The dot looks good. It is not great like a dpss green but considering it is a multimode diode I consider it to look good. Also I have a few more of these available right now. If anyone wants a bargain deal I have one that I had to remove the diode window. It works perfectly and outputs 1 watt but the diode does not have a window. I do not know if that will be bad for diode longevity or not. It seemed to be an issue with 405nm diodes but not 650nm diodes. If anyone wants that laser they can have it for SOLD shipped with batts.

Use the teflon tape with this one and the diode will be "virtually" sealed away from the environment anyway. If you are one to do A LOT of focus changes, this MAY be a challenge. However, if you do "mostly" burning or beam/spot work, this is one heluva deal!

I have one that I had to de-can in a lower powered laser that shows no problems after ~50 hours. I have even used this one quite a bit outside for sky pointing in a foggy environment.

Peace,
dave

Awesome. Thanks for the info guys. Ill PM ya hopefully in less than a month for one of these beasts.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

I wouldnt wait. At $100 this will be gone in a day or two.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

Well I still have a handful of these lasers for sale. I also unbelievably still have the $100 one as well. For now.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP

Got mine today. Absolutely amazing is all I can say. Thank you so much.
