What are your thoughts, Does LPF need a LPM dedicated section?

For discussing LPM software,components..ect

I've tried that in the past and it got nowhere...
But I think it would be the place to get Laser Power Meter
info and find DIY LPM projects all in the same place...

So... I vote yes...

I'm always down for more sections.

But sometimes I can be a little superfluous!

Still worth a try! :)

It could always be a subforum of something else like the tutorials, help & Repairs section.

I voted no. You are my friend Jerry, but you are also very competitive, and defensive about your meters. Which is OK, but I think it would cause arguments.

We have LPMs in BS&T, getting tested and wriiten up in Reviews, offered in the Laser Pro Shop and DIYs in Experiments and Modicifations. Easy to find anything you want to know on the topic with an quick search. We have a lot of subforums already. Wouldn't all the above threads and posts have to be moved there?

my 2 cents
len
from my sig.....
LPMs-RadiantAlpha-AixiZ SPER/Kenometer-Lite/LB1

I like them all.

Uhm, maybe that can be helpful for DYIers ..... i mean, not a forum for sell LPMs and not other, a forum for projects, schematics, ideas, builds ..... where all can be shared freely .....

I have nothing against selling LPMs on regular basis, i want to be clear about that ..... but, after all, there is already the pro shop section, for this ..... That what lack, imho, is a place where collect all the posts about these tools (i know that there is already the experiments forum, but there is all mixed up ..... maybe collecting all about this argument in a single place, can help keeping it a bit more ordered, and make also the things more easy to the ones that want to search informations ;)

Exactly what I think :)

When I first got on I had trouble finding a meter and ended up with the LPM-1 from Andover Holography. So it would be good for that.

However, I have since bought a Kenometer Pro and I love it. The comment was made about another LPM maker talking down and trashing the LPM's on LPF's. That was the case with the Kenometer Pro. I think you would see more of that on a dedicated section.

Also Kenom has opted to leave this forum shortly, so a past source of a couple meters are gone. There have been a couple others who make meters, but right now only one is making his presence known in a large way. But with the LIMITED number made and available at this exact time. I think you are asking for the section to be monopolized.

I voted NO.
