12X SS Cree C3 Build Long over due Review from Jayrob "Heavy Pic"

Hi, All

This is a Long Over Due Review that got pushed aside when the 445nm came available for cheap alittle wail back. So Here we go.:beer:

I Got this Kit From Jayrob some time ago and put it together about 4 months ago when i had enough funds to buy the Burner.
>>>PM Jay Here<<< Now available >>> http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fs-stainless-steel-c3-kit-51356.html <<< This is my BDR-205 12x 405nm build with the 405-G-1 Lens set to 380mA with a Micro Flex Drive v5 Pushing out a total of 493mW.(See LPM test below) I almost wish i waited until now i could have bought 3 12x sled for the money. Its ok because if you live by waiting you will never get anything done.

I am very happy with this build it is a nice Stainless steal host that takes a 14500 Battery witch last about 1 hour of on time. There is no rattling what so ever in this build everything fits nice and tight. It has an aluminum heatsink that does a :gj: with cooling for such a small build. I follow the 1 minute on 1 minute off Rule, unless iam making a video. It gets slightly warm to the touch but nothing to be worried about. The copper heat sink he offers with the kit now will be better.

With the Lite ion sleds available now for such a low price i could not resist and bought one for myself for another build.:san:

Overall this kit is Very nice & sexy for a 12x build or whatever you decide to put in it.

10 out of 10 in my book and my favorite build so far.:wave:

Nice review... Your camera picks up 405nm pretty clearly or maybe you got a freak diode with a higher wavelength... It almost looks brighter than my 750mW 405nm built by FlamynPyro.

Thank You Buddy, Yes for sure with the 405-G-1 Lens on, It sits so close to the host that it makes it a little difficult to turn the stock AixiZ focusing ring. on the laser.

I like having the heatsink Exposed For looks So i might get his "445 Custom Focus Knob" and not screw the G1 lens in so much on his knob so it sticks out a little more for easier focusing. I think his purpose for making the 445 Custom Focus Knob was to have the 445nm Aixiz lens Be able screw in all the way so there is less of gap between the host/heatsink body and the focusing ring. So i will be doing the opposite.:san:

The other thing is that the G1 lens Focusing is really tight so there really is not alot of turning the Lens to focus the laser no matter if its 100 feet away or 10 feet away. So i might be able to not screw the G1 lens that deep into the AixiZ stock focusing ring.

I will also be getting a copper heatsink upgrade as well.
