RA - Lucky as hell that you got yours... Seems yours slipped under the radar; Mine which was shipped this week looks like it ain't gonna happen, thanks to customs. I can just be envious and look at pics of yours <:}

I read your post just a few minutes ago.
I don't remember which courier shipped mine. I think it may have been FedEx.
You said DHL? Are you going to have to send in some paperwork? I don't see why it should have any problems getting through. CNI ships to the US regularly. Maybe you can try contacting them and see what they say. Maybe CNI can talk to the customs agents for you.

What exactly is the "Description of Use" they ask for?

"Uhm... I need my laser to... uh... point at stuff and mhmmmhrm..."

It should have been declared as "Laser/electronics Sample" or similar.
Perhaps customs is cracking down now. :undecided:

It wouldn't surprise me after all that's happened this year.

I'm going to send in whatever paperwork they require. As far as I'm concerned, I'm importing a laser that is claimed to be fully legal by a compliant exporter. It's just that I don't have the information to fill out on Form 2877.

I have left a message with CNI; If Ava understands what I'm saying -- (which seems to be a bit of a barrier a lot of the time here) , hopefully she can take care of it. It's not like this is a new thing to them, unless this *IS* a new thing as far as the FDA's crackdown goes.

Durring my problems with CNI they started to say that they were not going to do anything, but then I got Glenn involved and they got over it because of all the sales he gets them, I suggest you talk to Glenn about this situation, I know he has good contact with CNI by now :) Aryntha I sent you a PM about your PGL-400 BTW :D

RA - back to your topic, one thing I want to ask: How long do you have to allow your 473 to cool off before it performs well again? Previous one I had took an hour. These things DO like their duty cycle to be tightly observed, it seems.

I'll usually play with another laser for a 5-10 minutes and then it will power back up after that.

I mostly use it at night when it's cool so I can run it continuously longer.
DPSS blue is apparently very temperature sensitive.
