Post 1000! I remember the day I first signed up,thinking that even 500 was an insane number of posts, but a year and a half on, and here I am, still typing away...

It's been amazing to be a member of such a vibrant and wide-reaching community so far, and I certainly have no intention of stopping (though until after exams this summer, I'll be slowing down my post rate somewhat). I'd like to give my thanks to everyone who's assisted, interested, impressed, entertained and educated me along the journey so far, and Avery for keeping the server free to all - without the forum's banks of knowledge, and members willing and able to help, the laser world would be deprived.

About time to get myself a signature, I think...

Did you happen to hear about the new rule Charlie?
OK i'll tell you. :)

As of April 1, 2010, every member that reaches their 1000th post has to donate $100 (U.S.) to LPF.

Sorry Charlie. :na:

Personally I think the color of our post counts should change at 405, 473, 488, 532, 589...

... Oh and uh, 632.8 and 593.5 too.

lol what'd be cool is if there was a system implemented that automatically changed the color of wavelengths to the appropriate color... for example if I typed 473nm, it automatically became the matching color of blue (not quite what I used in the example, but I think the point is pretty clear :p), and if I typed 700nm, it would automatically turn approx. that color...

just a thought :san:

peace & thanks

^Do LCDs block out all IR or UV light from the CCFL? Someone should make an LCD that is not only RGB but IRRGBUV. :D
