I vote #4 here also, would prefoer the items auctioned one at a time though. A list of items beforehand would give people time to decide what they want to bid on and some sort of budget they might need.

Guys, it is in my best judgement that we'll auction the items. If you still wish to voice your opinion please do so, but Simon presented me with valid points agains raffling them.

I voted for a direct sale with the proceeds being given to Ken. Reason for this is we have had problems before with raffles (threats, PP and GC accounts frozen, etc..) because they are not allowed under PP and GC rules. I think it would be safer to do a direct sale if we could. Now it does also depend also a little on which lasers they are, which as you said, we don't know yet. If they are really expensive ones (Sypders, etc..) a raffle would probably generate more money, since most people will not be able to afford thousands of dollars on a laser. If they are less expensive (pulsars, execs, etc) a direct sale will probably be just as good if not better profit wise.

A raffle on the LPF could open up a legal can of worms for Avery as it really does turn his forum into a gambling operation. Raffles are just like a lottery and both are considered gambling. Even though it's for a good cause, Kenom is not a registered non-profit charity and it could get Avery in trouble and may also be a violation of his ISP's term of service.
Before proceeding with a raffle here, you should get Avery's approval as in the end it could be him & the LPF that would get in trouble for it.

A raffle might be a good idea if it were to completely take place on Steve's website / forum rather than here as he's located in China and it might be legally permitted.

I just thought of a way it could be done completely legal and not a form of gambling.
Steve could donate the items directly to Kenom, ship them to Kenom and then Kenom could sell them in the LPF B/S/T section.

When you say 100% of the profit, does this mean that if laser that gets auctioned at the price of say $200, Ken gets that full auction amount? or is it just the "profit" from sale, which could be much less or even non-existent if the auction closes and someone "wins" the auction at a low price.

It should be 100%, Steve said he would donate the lasers to help Ken's cause.
