Hello, welcome to the forum. If you are looking for something I suggest using the search bar but don't use the one towards the left. Up at the top there are different things to click on. Click the search up there and type in what you need. If you can't find what you're looking for just make a thread. Welcome to the coolest forum on the web.
I notied he always posts and very professionally I must add. I bet he has a document on his computer thats named LPF welcome message or something like that.
thanks for the warm welcome people i am very interested in lasers but after reading alot of the safety i am a bit worried about damaging my eyes after reading alot of horror stories of slight exposures leading to eyesight problems very quickly i have purchased a rohm 100mw red diode 650nm cw 240mw pulsed an a odic force ofl 144 low dropout voltage linear switching laser driver i orderd these before i made myself a member of this forum an now i dont know weather to put it all together or not i dont feel that i know enough about the dangers or what protection to use with this diode any help would be much appreciated thanks ade
If you buy some good laser safety glasses and be very careful about reflections and such you shouldn't too many problems. But accidents do happen, that's why you gotta be super careful.
If you're already dealing with Odicforce, (I'm assuming you're in the UK?), then you can check with them but these glasses cover the wavelength your looking at, (pardon the pun!). Bear in mind that these will not cover you for green, (532nm), or Blu-ray, (405nm), so you will need to invest in other protection for these wavelengths. It can be a false economy buying wavelength specific glasses though. Broader spectrum glasses are more expensive but not necessarily twice the price, if you get my meaning. I got some good glasses from S-K lasers.com, IIRC, but there is more info available on this site if you use the search button.
You only have two eyes, look after them.
Enjoy your time with us and we look forward to seeing pics of your first build!
