are these pictures realistic ?






In my experience of purchasing 4 green lasers, all of them were overspec.

they did say "computer generated" so there may be some exaggeration there to help sell higher powered lasers.
 
Did you buy from dealextreme or other cheap chinese sites? their 5mw and 10mw units are very often overspec.
 
You can see all the lasers I own in my sig, I have compared them all and I would agree with all of those pictures.

Problem with those beamshots is always weather conditions. The atmospheric conditions have more to do with the beam's brightness than anything. Some days I was unable to see the beam of my 200mW greenie in the sky, other days my 5mW looked like a lightsaber. So it's really hard to judge from pics what power it is or to say what power should have what beam.
 
the past nights were cold more or less 0°C (temp of melting ice for you americans :) ) and cloudless. i am in town, when there are clouds the sky is orange

i have bought this pointer from apinex :
Pointeur Laser vert avec interrupteur ON/OFF

so what do you think? is it a real 10mw?

It is IMPOSSIBLE to tell from a picture like that. As Revolution said, the atmospheric conditions are the main factor in visibility. Here are two beam shots. What would you estimate the power of each one to be?

It is a trick question. They are exactly the same. They are of the same laser take just seconds apart. The difference is I sprayed some visualizer in the air for the second shot

So how many milliwatts is the laser producing? The ONLY way to know is by using a Laser Power Meter (LPM)

Sorry man, there is no way anyone can say for sure with using a proper laser power meter. There are just too many variables. Everything, from air temperature, pressure, humidity, pollution levels to the camera model and EXACT angle the photo was taken at. Any of those can drastically effect the way the beam will appear. A power meter is the only way to be sure.
 
IMO I thought their pictures were very accurate. I have lasers of those power levels listed and their pictures match my experiences well (assuming a clear night, as others have said the atmosphere plays a large part in beam visibility)
 
Hello..... The web page clearly stated that the pictures are simulated.

By defenition of simulated, they are not real pictures.
 
Of course they're not real, but they are accurate (to me) although the 300mW beam is not quite that opaque
 
I'm sorry bud, It just seemed as if everyone was carrying on like those were actual photos.
