L4A is coming soon. Say good bye to waits from China and customs.

Photos and build specs will start to appear within a week or two.

Can't say much more than, keep your eyes open. ;)

There is an amazing 532nm green host possibly making it's way into the pack. I have personally chosen this host after researching countless possibilities out there. We will see about this host's ability once it arrives and can be fully inspected. I like it more than a Spyder III. ;)

Who is it that runs this site? I assume they won't be selling portables over 5mW, or they're not located in the US.. The FDA paid a visit to a previous member here who started a site selling powerful portables here in the US.

The guy in charge of this site is not a member here. For all I know, complete builds may not even be sold by him, possibly just demonstrated over that website. I cannot speak on the site's behalf. I took the responsibility of trying to come up with a new 532nm host this community needs so badly. ;)

What host does this community need so badly....
I don't remember needing a 532nm host so badly.....

don't think we need anything "badly"

We have several machinists here that do great 532nm module hosts... from flash lights to custom hosts from scratch.

@Exerd: good luck with developing the host.

Hopefully your friend has his ducks in a row, because being a member here isn't necessary for the FDA to investigate. I hope he's careful, that website name is attention getting, just like "burninglasers.com", which was the name of the site started by the member I referred to.

I'd love for there to be a company in the US that sells cheap high-powered pointers, but there's not.. and the FDA has a lot to do with that.

Yeah, Joyrob is the man. I have purchased a LOT from him lately and he has been the biggest help to me here yet...I suggest everyone go to him for his awesome hosts.

But let's talk about 532nm hosts for "powerful" modules. Do any great looking designs come to mind? To me, I see a lot of boring hosts, and green module sizes limit them mostly to single CR123 size, Chinese 18650 bodies, or big but plain light bodies. Personally, I feel there is only one *great* looking green module host out there, and that is the Wicked Laser Spyder III.

We can be quite literal about others statements, and understand that we don't "need" anything we play with. They're all just "wants" after all, right?

I say "need" because I don't feel we have a 532nm host with a real "ooh ahh" factor yet. Though I hope it's coming...

I want to see this... A host better than the spyder? A company in the US that sells good lasers? What's next? Free healthcare and world peace?

I would think their prices will be way above the Chinese for obvious reasons. We'll have to wait and see.

Let's see how this turns out.... I'm not sure how this will work with complete lasers.

Fair enough :)

I look forward to seeing it, is it designed from scratch and then made on a CNC or...?

When do you think you'll have pictures up of this "amazing" host ;)

Sounds intimidating to start something up in the US. Maybe this site should remain a project and link to upcoming hosts without actual laser sales if the owner wants to keep his hands clean.

Alright, I give.

The idea here is LARGE module fitment (~300-600mW) + 18650.
