www.Lasers4America.com is coming

Thanks flammin... I want a lathe soo bad.

My buddy got me hooked with his $600 mini-lathe. They are great. Just do your research on brands. What you can do with them that you never even thought about...

I'm cleaning out one of the workshop walls this week and building the bench for the new CNC lathe I have been waiting on for quite some time.

I'm all for dealing with customs and putting a few pieces together to get a >5mW laser.

Although, if you can make some super sturdy, cheap low power lasers, then I'm interested.

So this green host does not use the big, high powered IR filtered O-like modules?

Funny side note -
The person who owns lasers4america.com also owns "Guns 4 America"

I see a trend:

Are you purposely looking to stir the pot? Indeed, you are.

I never want a personal friends home and telephone information listed in a thread where we are discussing legalities of the whole FDA thing.

What an AMAZING trend you have discovered. A machinist who has two websites dedicated to two hobbies.

Those big O-like filtered modules are the first modules we are going to attempt to modify to fit the Fenix TA30 host.

This may be changing as we explore higher quality modules out there, however.

I just got this via email:

Note to the sender - this is public information. It is called a Whois search.

EDIT: Guns4america.com - Guns 4 America

NO, you didn't get that through email. I posted it here for everyone to see. I emailed you nothing.

The point is, it's not very ethical to go around posting someone's personal information on the spamnet just because something exists allowing you to find out their information. Places like this forum are loved by spammers, who love to obtain personal information. Instead of letting things go on, you have to chime in with your post which does ABSOLUTELY nothing to cater towards the thread or host topic discussed within the thread. The word "useless" comes to mind, a root of your post.

And if your "friend" is doing something illegal, maybe he should knock it off.

Why are you quoting the word "friend"?

It's amazing how we try to provide some lift in a forum that is all practically doing something illegal to begin with, then the guy tripping on caffeine has the guts to point fingers at others as if he breaks no laws himself.

Lying about products which would never pass customs due to country regulations, then accepting them by the process of the order you made seems illegal enough to me. Yet I'd be willing to bet 75% of the laser owners on this forum have participated in this act.

So give me a break.

Hrm, is a laser diode that can produce over 5 mW illegal to import?

If so, I totallly didn't order anything from china:whistle:
But, if it's legal to import incomplete lasers, without a host or a driver, then i'm in the perfectly legal minority, yay!

Also, abadcaffeinetrip, It wasn't really necessary to put all of that information on the forum, because you could have just posted the name and mentioned a whois search, that would have gotten the point across without pissing anyone off.

@exterd - you're right. You did not email that to me. I got it from an email notification generated by the forum. Same text as you posted so anyone can see where it came from.

Second, I think it is funny that you keep talking about your friend. Let me be more direct. I think you own the website and are trying to use "friend" to hide your identity. I could be completely off base and there is a probability that I am.

Lastly, "Everyone else does it" is never a defense.

I've stated my views and now I'm going to check out of this thread. I think the magnitude of your reaction speaks volumes. Remember, all I did was post publicly available information.

You can think that I am lying and I am behind all of this if you want to; conspiracy theorists unite. To those members here who have shipped items to me, and spoken with me over the phone, they know my name is Matt and I don't live in Serena, IL.

This forum would be easier on me if the age median wasn't 17.

Many mature things are posted here. ;)

Abadcaffeinetrip, I appreciate the editing out of the personal information.

Exerd: We are mainly just trying to look out for you and your friend's own good. Plain and simple, if you are selling a illegal product online, you will get caught. We have all seen it happen on here many times.

Go abouts the legal process of getting your lasers FDA approved first before you start selling them....it will save you some jail time. :)

Just a heads up...LOL :)

Good luck to you as well, that host looks nice. :)

Here is a better photo of the possible host. It's next to the Cree Aurora, Jayrob's 'Slim 18650' host.
