The spoils of a foggy night!

As the 19" of snow in Richmond (I'm home on winter break) was melting, we had two really good foggy nights in a row.

The first night, my dad got to play with his recently acquired Nikon D90. Here are a couple highlights:

Optotronics ~155mW

Homebuilt Labby 405nm PHR ~100mW (Makes a great facebook profile picture!)

The second night I broke out my Metrologic ML820 HeNe rated at 2mW. Dad did not join me, I believe he was playing Forza on Xbox Live.

Either the laser's lens is dirty or the polarization is throwing a bit of spatter - but the specs are great (~0.86 mRad).

All in all, two really fun nights. In the unlikely event anyone wants ultra high-res copies of these pictures, I can upload them.

Nice beam on the HeNe, my camera always seems to hate red lasers as well - always get that big ring around it

@Hallucynogenyc those 405nm pics look about as good as any for that
wavelength to me especially with some light already available.

This was the first time he got it out and really used it to take a bunch of photos. If you have any pointers to pass along, I'm sure he'd really appreciate them! :beer:

Those really are some great pics. Don't you love the fog! I had a foggy night about two months ago. Unfortunately I only had my 30mW green because I was out, but it looked awesome!

I considered selling my Optotronics 150mW and realized that I wouldn't be able to bring it out and around on foggy nights.
