Howdy!

My name is Paul and I'm here to get some help on picking out a laser.

Not sure if I should start a new thread in the green laser area or post up here.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome SpeedMerchant
You'll find a wealth of info here on LPF

If your interested in a green lasers ''532nm'', check put the review section.
Their are plenty of reviews on both high end lasers, and low cost, good bang for the buck lasers.

For decent lasers under $180 try rayfoss.com or O-Like.com
If you want to spend more look for CNI, Optronics, Laserglow

feel free to ask any question you have. All members here at LPF are very friendly and helpful, But please try and use the search function first. Chances are your question has been asked, and answered many time before.

Have Fun!

I guess I'm lost really. I really really like the Aries-35 on Laser glow, but I'm not really sure what I want/need.

I'm mostly just fascinated by lasers.

The idea of popping baloons seems fun too, although that may put me out of my price range. I'm trying to keep it around $200.00 to $250.00.

Any thoughts?

Welcome to another AZ member!

As mentioned, look around, search, read. Take your time. Don't be too anxious. Your 1st thought may lead you toward an awesome purchase and start you on a great hobby. Or, it can be too hasty and lead to disappointment.

Bryce above is in Mesa, and I'm in N. Phoenix! There are several AZ dwellers here.

Have fun!

Well, I'm really just looking for something with high entertainment value honestly.

Pop a balloon? Awesome! Point it at a mountain and see the beam and the dot far away? Also awesome.

I'm not sure I'm too keen on that Rayfoss. Those reviews may have been positive, but the fact that different products were had, and the quality seemed questionable bothers me.

Any thought?

Thanks for the useless input. I have used the search function, however, after doing this, I have yet to find a thread entitled, "What laser is best for SpeedMerchant". How odd.

So to those willing to help, again I ask, for around 200 or less, what is my best option.

I saw that maybe I could kill two birds with two stones instead of one.

Maybe a cheaper 200mw red laser to burn, and then a 5mw green for a fun pointer? Or are there some 50mw greens that aren't that much more and much brighter?

I'm pretty mechanical and have a mean solder, so is building one a do-able option?

Thanks for the help guys.
