This video made me LOL. He calls this a "HACK". Check out this video.

It's actually kind of cool :) I read here that the lower the temperature the higher the efficiency, but didn't know that it rises that much! How would that affect the laser though? If you have a greenie you'll probably ruin the crystal. But what about red?

"Freeze the laser to cool the DPSS crystal."

If you freeze your laser and try to use it afterwards, the diode is going to die, instant LED, because it cannot take the temperature stress.

Oh, maybe I shouldn't have used mine outside when it was -4°F here :shhh:

@euda...:The diode won't die. I've done this myself with the dilda to check if it could operate on low temp and it does. Tested on the LPM and the small power increase was because of the batteries not running properly at that temp.

@iskor: this was already posted xD

Not like that dude.
You did not leave it all night long on -4. you just used it...

Leaving it in freezer for 6 hours is different matter. The emitter crystal on diode will be damaged severely. There was not one case of it dying from freezing you know! There was a dude that posted somewhere that he ruined his LOC because he froze is and tryied to use it immediatly.

But the first basic thing to notice is that there is no DPSS crystal in red laser! Automatic conclusion: guy does not know what is he talking about, also, video is faked. If the paper would really be ignited by laser, it would burn from the spot hit by laser, not 3 square inches around it!

NOOOOOOO. Sorry guys. I really did look for it, but I didn't see that anyone else already posted it.

Now as for this working.....Don't try it. The condensation alone from taking the laser out of a freezer to a warm place could ruin the laser.

Thank you silvercookie for pointing out what everyone else has already pointed out. :)

Once again.

SORRY FOR POSTING THIS
