I'm going to start wearing a hat like this to lecture.

Peace,
dave

While quite stylish, a suit of 100% polyester covering you from head to toe is not as comfortable as you might think, so jsut keep that in mind before you go order a set.

But hey, I'm wearing a suit exactly like that, in that exact room, right now...what are you wearing Dave? ;)

Does it have to be laser related?

A SPAM-A-TRON :D

I'm gonna start a thread later after I'm finished with some studying, but what about a good flashlight mod? We never see that kind of stuff here, I saw at CPF a guy who used like 6 P5 LEDs in one host.

EDIT: Yes, we've seen Jay's cool stuff, but I'm talking about using more than one LED, like that guy on CPF.

Or maybe you can develop a kit for an easy RGY laser...

I just finished mine, I love it. One P7, an excape tail piece, an aspherical melles griot lens (ar coated), and a polished custom stainless steel bezel. Blue glow powder too.

Second pic isn't mine, but it looks identical to my flashlight (just a better quality pic)

Care to post some more pics?
I've seen that lens before but I'm still very intrigued on how light goes through it, it seem like as if it were completely painted blue :p

Get three ALC60x tubes, 3 power supplies for them and a set of Coherent I90 mirrors ( or a similar laser, SP 164/5/8 would be okay ) and see if you can get three tubes to lase together!

Been planning that for a while. Two has been done before. ;)

I have to charge my Nikon for better pics... then I will post some more. The lens acts like a magnifying glass and accentuates(?) the glow powder below it, after it has been charged with light. I had to order a special HAIII heatsink for the P7 and filled it in with epoxy and blue glow powder. This light is Super bright! I may add some fins to the head later on.

Edit: charging batteries sucks. I used my phone, just for you, Niko..

Image removed to spare everyone else.

And that's exactly why I thank my lucky stars every day that I wasn't alive in the 70s. That and the crappy cars. Oh, and the distinct lack of lasers.

But seriously, making a laser diode is very rewarding, you should try it out. I'm not that far from having a laser pointer of my VERY OWN. Just a few more hurdles to overcome and a little free time. BTW, what's the smallest host anyone has gotten a meredith module into? They don't fit into leadlights, correct? We have everything here to package into 9mm, but not 5.6mm.

Tape as many lasers as you can together and make a switch that turns them all on at the same time. Then take pictures. Then make me one :)

LOL, this gives me a great image of Dave in his living room (not his actual living room mind you, but a generic living room in my imagination) with a dozen gas lasers, dozens of modules, and a hundred flashlight and pen lasers all piled up in the middle of the room, and he's got a roll of duct tape and is running around the room skipping and laughing, unfurling the tape like he was running around a maypole, taping them all together.

And how fitting, Dave of all people, with a laser maypole, a symbol which likely originated in pagan rituals/celebrations.
