Well that would be sad. I put this little package together so fast that I did not put an invoice in it. The contents are listed as "salvaged" diodes. They all "look" salvaged so I hope it will not cause us too much trouble.

There was one "S03" pressed into an aiXiz module.

Inside the module was a second "S03", wrapped in tinfoil, and the little lens from in front of the diode.

Also, in a small plastic holder and small black anti-static bag, was the LG BH08 diode in it's heat sink.

I would think that it shouldn't be too much problem to convince them that they are worth very little money, but you know them much better than I

Peace,
dave

That'd be a terrible package to loose. I really hope it gets there. I also hope my two hosts get to you ok also Igor. I sent them priority on Monday. Hopefully you should get them by Wednesday. I'm a little worried now.

It'll be fine, i'll take care of it Monday, if i'm lucky i have it Tuesday or Wednesday, and your 8x can be the second i ever make!

Bryce, if you included the INVOICE i demand for ALL incoming packages, it'll all be good.. :)

Double post.

I was working with some long closed can diodes this afternoon when it struck me.

Has the long closed can actually been around since 2007?

This sled has the long closed can in it like the ones in the GBW and GGW sleds. I wonder what they were being used in before we found them in the GBW. Maybe these sleds were in development at the same time as the 4X sleds were.

You mean just the green customs declaration saying "Empty flashlight" with a low declaration value?

No, and now i am scared.

I need an invoice, declaring ALL items in an envelope as commercial items with a value of $23 USD max....

Who arranged this package? Glenn? I'm sure he mentioned an invoice.

Look, it's gonna be OK. I just need a LIST OF ALL ITEMS, i'll create the invoice and send it to them.

And if i haven't said it often enough, our customs are ANAL.

If there is an invoice i get stuff immediatelly, if there is none, i don't get anything until i send them one.

Dave, the long cans are as tough as open cans from Mitsubishi.

I made one at 520mA or so, and it still lives!

It does almost 320mW after an AR coated acrylic lens.

I know. I'm running one at 510mA (my personal red). It puts out 310mW after "virtual Village" acrylic.

I take these long closed can diodes and slap them into a module with a Rkcstr cranked up to 420mA. They put out about 240mW (after acrylic). They burn like heck and very rarely burn out at 420mA.

I just assembled another 18 today. I'm going fishing with my son tomorrow so I won't list them until Monday or Tuesday. They usually sell well.

Oh Yeah. I discovered something interesting about the GGW (6X) sleds today. I'll have to figure out where to post it.

Peace,
dave

You've discovered most everything i know about sleds i've never even seen.. Well, i've seen one.. And i have 88 GGW diodes!

61 of them fully plotted too!

But drop me an email, when you return from fishing. I want to know what it is...

You can have it for the price we paid for it ($38.00US) plus shipping..

Jerry

I missed this last night!

Jerry, you misunderstood me... :(
And it was my fault, i apologize!

I just wanted to get a "micro"l peltier for a CR123 laser build... :yh:
8x8mm is perfect, and I'll pay the price gladly!

It will be powered by a microprocessor using PWM, to keep the temperature of the diode constant over several minutes..
It'll be the first time a small handheld laser doesn't drop in power over time!

If even possible AT all it'll be an 8x! :yh:

Also, i'd love to share what i know about "Peltipiles" with you ("Peltipile" is a private joke cos Daedal once sold them to me as a Thermopile, which it's not, but they are coated almost as well, but i started teasing him, cos he did lie to me)...

I am not interested in making meters professionally (too much work to be worth the price using the approach i used last time), i just wanted to talk to you about the laser idea in that PM.

I know for a fact your Laserbee is accurate to within +/-1.5%! It's a great meter for this hobby, and i am happy you offer it to people at such a good price!

I use an analogue approach with op-amps, which yields the same results, with two ranges for 0.1mW to 200mW or 1mW to 2W total power measuring ability, but i can't do it for $200, my real work won't allow me..

I once made one for Brtaman, mostly as a favor, took me two days and nights to finish it, but it came out nicelly.
I was very happy with it in the end, and so is Brtaman, but i can't afford to make any more.

Again, this misunderstanding was completelly my fault!
I'm sorry to have offended you.

I haven't slept much this week due to my real work... :undecided:

N/P....

If you are interested in the TEC.. Just PM me for Info...
the actual dimensions are 8mm X 8mm X 3.5mm..
It is brand new with 120mm red and black leads..

That's perfect for what i need! :yh:

Sending PM now..

Again, sorry for last night, i claim "temporary" insanity after too little sleep for a week...

thats pretty small for a peltier.. I wonder what thermal power it can transfer? one, two watts, as would be necessary for a high-power diode?

I found the freak "S03", and unwrapped the tinfoil. It was EMPTY!!!!! :undecided:

EDIT: I opened the wrong foil packet, the diode was stuck at the bottom of AixiZ module.

I expected two "S03" diodes tho? Which you got for testing for free?

My Cycler Circuit can determine the CW power of a laser diode...

It's worth all the work that went into it, because we finally have a way to sacrifice diodes in a more meaningful way...

I'll lend it to you if you wanna do the tests, Dave....
