OK...Yes...Both the 12mm module....and a 18mm sleeve will be able to be rotated.

12mm inner/module rotation will deliver Axis Rotational adjustment
18mm outer/Sleeve rotation will deliver Pitch adjustment

Both " Spinning"....both in play for their respective adjustment task.

Now....heat transfer....Hmmmmm...thinking....let us switch to a clamping arrangement for a better physical contact between Main Cube and the 18 mm outer sleeve.

Now….we might need to increase the cube overall height....to provide enough cross section area to fit the clamping bolt's.....for I think two (2) bolts will be superion to one (1) !!

See attached pic.......and you should get the concept.....the clamping action will be done with two (2) bolts....in the top section.

OK....will this then be tight enough and enough surface area to adequately wick away the LD heat....AHhhhh….sure....but....I will build and test....with an 044 running full out !!

We are in " Undiscovered Country" here !!! Who knows ????? I will make all from CU....unless someone wants tp supply 100% Silver
:san::san::san:

CDBEAM

Hmmmm ??? This is getting to be a more complicated build than a first imagined !!! TYPICAL !!!

I understand, maybe I was mistaken, so CDBeam's drawing is perfect, we can not step through the square module

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....Of Course it is !!!!!!!!!!!!

:tinfoil::tinfoil::tinfoil: :):):):) :evil::evil:

Such a joint effort is great fun....One can almost envision the Synergy of many, many minds....all adding their contribution....and pointing out possible design flaws or weaknesses !!…...as we build the design in our minds, then in CAD....then in reality.....

As I have said before....our R&D team....goes around the earth.....relatively un-tarnished by ego ( except mine hahaha)...or the demands of a corporate timetable....fueled by passion and our own need for a solution !!! It really is amazing !!

THANX !!!!!

I have very little experience in dual construction, and I will wait for your first test product, it will be as attractive as what you did before _6w cyan_ crazy: nước dãi:

I may have some spare parts around somewhere-- if you are looking to combine 44s in a small space PM me.
My dual 44 will be made with two 'full size' lab laser 'kits' comes w/ fan- and a small cube is not a worry.
I will go with the cubes having a 5 W damage threshold-($14.50 iirc & ~13X13x13)- will let all know if those cubes can take the power of two 44s.
If they STILL run too hot (I suspect they will- the fans can only help so much) I may stick TECs under them. for now I am not adding any extra optics or correction.. for a beam projector (Sat) a fat beam is n/p.. hak

Len had contacted me about those high power cubes. Just didn’t have time to read what I missed on this thread and chime in. They seem perfect for this project. You don’t want the cubes to fail with that much power going through.

This is just a thought I've had, what do you think ?

I think the main thing we want is 2 x 44's and the beam expander and as using the 6X pair with the sanwu BE means using the sanwu G2 we could skip the 6X pair which requires extra critical alignment as well as the rotator lens and skip the rotator using just the 2 x 44's a PBS cube and the 3.3XBE.

The beam would be a + but that may not be a bad thing as for how the spot looks far field and the beam would appear rounder to our eye.

The laser modules could be adjustable on the vertical axis if we use these and as its a friction fit should be fairly straight. : https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brass-9mm-...&itm=232202546073&_trksid=p5713.c100042.m2062

The power density wouldn’t be as good and neither would the divergence. But it would be a simpler and cheaper construction. Quality vs cost scenario here.

----EDITED----

It would be cheaper, easier and less critical as the beam expander will work even with a misaligned beam, not that we want that but the 6X C-lens pair would mean adding a rotator and both beams would have to be in precise alignment or the c-lenses would skew the beam, so both beams would need to run exactly aligned and right now we are fighting with aligning just 1, so this simpler concept would allow some ....and I hate this term but I'll say it, wiggle room.

Also we still get 2 x 44 lasers for a 13w beam and less parasitic loss as well.

Of course I would want to use G7 primary lenses @ the diode and not G2's to bring the divergence down, but that's no problem as I use G7's with 44's and the 3XBE all the time, here we are just PBS combining another beam in.

Again this is just an idea, I would rather use the rotator and 6X pairs.

So we are only saving a little for the rotator and 6X pair but it would be an easier build, still I would rather use the rotator and 6X pair, I'm just throwing out some ideas.

OK......Let us assume that a 044 beam geometry is 2mm x 5mm @ 20mm distance from the G2 lens.

When we position two (2) individual beams in a + pattern/orientation....they have a shared common area of 2mm x 2mm ( Where they cross) ...or 4 Millimeter squared....and this = 0.04 Centimeter Squared.

Let us assume a Raw PO of 7W per diode....likely on the high side though....probably....more like 6.5W per diode....so 13W Raw PO.....
So 13W less G2 Loss....estimate 12.4W entering the PBS Cube.

SO...our area of highest energy concentration is 0.04 Square Centimeters.

BUT !!! The area of common path is 40% of the total beam individual beam geometry....SO....0.4 x 12.4 = 5W

SO...5W into an area of 0.04 Square Centimeters....( The conversion factor is 25 times....( 1/0.04 = 25 )….
..so....energy density loading of...

5 x 25 = 125W / Centimeter Squared !!! Yikes !!! That's a lot of Photon Mojo we plan to load the PBS Cube with !!!!

Please....those with more expertise....just jump in here....and advise....is this correct logic ????….Or is my logic and or math...flawed ????

Thanx !

If we go with option #2 and use the G7 primary lens then that loading will be spread out over a larger area as the G7 is a longer FL aspheric, more like 5mm x 1.5mm maybe and the two would be in a + pattern.

However I know there cubes that will take the power with G2's, I have seen it done elsewhere, just look at what this cube is in for

Slightly off topic:
I plan to converge several corrected beams, at least 3, actually I am interested to see what lenses Minimoto uses in his 9 x 44 build, only I would be willing to use a 6X pair on each beam prior to converging, just 3 x 6w beams could be fun and the focus is set ( for short distances ) when you use a G2 primary with a 6X pair so only the 2 outer beams need to be adjusted to target. ( all on same plane ) Note: the longer the arm on your articulated bounce mirror the shorter the range but the finer the control, so it would be tuned for greatest fidelity.

Using servo controlled motors to adjust two of the three beams will likely be more complicated than you think. Especially, if you plan on making them converge on different spots in the far field.
