That the only manufacturer on earth in 2018 reporting on or making 565nm and 575nm "lasers" in this company and they sell them @ $24-$30--meaning the cost what to make $10 maybe? Does not add up or ring true.

Low cost LEDs are commonly available in 565nm and 575nm and the manufacturer of these "laser lights" says the device they are selling is either a 3W or 5W G10 socket HID "SMD5730" LED device depending on which Alibaba page/advert.

Maybe they are doing something like the Wicked Laser "Phosforce" and driving an LED phosphor with a laser diode or they are using what they say they use --a 3W or 5W SMD5730 LED like many automobile LED lights do and have found they can collimate a low power beam that looks like a laser?

Keep in mind that a real lab type DPSS 577nm laser is offered by CNI and they cost $4500 for a 30mW see: https://www.ultralasers.com/proinfo.php?productid=946&cat=211&page=1&featured

If it sounds to good to be true it usually is----- I wont believe it is a DPSS laser until proven to be true----someone has to take one fully apart and see/show what it is.
Remains to be seen what the $30 retail price products really are and are not.

This is the module, only if I can take the back plate then we can know much more about it but this thing is sealed

I started from the top by removing the collimation lens which revealed the following (lens ?), anyway it was easy to pop off

I can see there is another crystal/lens beneath it but my camera can't show it.

Does not look like any DPSS laser module I have even seen but could be be a larger version of the cheap DPSS 532nm modules found in $2 pens?
Will be interesting to see what the light source is and what the crystal(s) is/are when you get to it.
Maybe with some heat the back will unscrew and come off if not press fit.

Looks like it could very well be a frequency doubled direct IR diode. Depends on the wavelength of the pump diode. That could explain the less than perfect output of these things.

That's an odd looking lens. If you can, shine a laser beam through it and take a photo of the projected spot.

It is a strange looking lens, but it looks like the lens is at the center of the acrylic or whatever the thing is made of. If this has a collimating lens after this, it could be a diverging lens. It is really difficult to tell from photos.

Might be --- however----do you know of any example of doing this with an output of 565nm or 575nm?
Consider cost has to be $2-$4 tops for that part of a product the costs $10- $15 overall to make?
Found one 2018 article on a based on frequency doubling of an 1154 nm Distributed Bragg Reflector (DBR) tapered diode laser---however --- not inexpensive

I haven't found the direct listing for the 575nm lasers. It is a strange website to navigate and if you don't look closely, you will miss the fact that these are not the same items. What makes this more confusing is they use the same pictures to represent items that have nothing to do with each other. There are hundreds of companies using these same pictures to represent everything from RGB projectors, to LEDs and these lasers.

Most of their items shows false description. I can assure you this is 100% laser and not an LED or anything else. The spectro test and the beam characterstics is more than enough to prove that it’s a laser.

Yes right all of the Alibaba adverts are for 565nm and apparently they offer 575nm also--no listing for 575nm.

It might be worth a shot to ask the manufacturer about them lights as they say HID LED SMD5730 , G10 socket, and 3W or 5W ,depending upon the web page advert, in every page about the product?

Give me a link where they show "the 565nm laser to be separate from the LEDs." or not LED based ? Agree their marketing pages are a confusing mix of different things

Low cost cheap, down and dirty SMD5730 LEDs in 565nm and 575nm are commonly available so.... I tend to believe that there is a good chance it is the technology they employ in one way or another only because they themselves say it is/say so.

I guess we will know as soon as a full investigation of what make it tick/what it is has been completed and we have photos to show and prove same.

Am not a big fan of extrapolation nor of reinventing the wheel by putting corners on it.

That nobody else makes or has ever made a higher quality version says quite a bit.
That there no scholarly research or laser technology articles describing anything like it as a potential product application speaks pretty loudly also. Go figure.

Is interesting that on the label of the 2 you got it says Class IIIb meaning between 5mW to 499.9mW

Guess we will find out eventually what is what --remains to be seen precisely what it is and isn't.

What are the LPM readings for the opt yellow lasers just for comparison. As I’m getting 30mW up to 70mw on my modules.

The issue with making them portable would be the required pump power. They seem to need 1-2W pump power to make 30-50mW. If that's the case then you're not going to get them a small host.

Making it portable and making it small are entirely different challenges. Although, at 1-2W pump power portable isn't outside the realm of possibility.

Could just be a larger 20mm version of the mass produced low cost small modules seen in $2 pens that nobody else does because not much of a market for that size of poor quality low cost product at any wavelength as lasers and a large market for the more expensive better quality, at least in 532nm.

Will be nice to know the pump diode wavelength and % of leakage at what wavelength + what crystal/crystals are if that is the system used.

I already have put it into a host :)
