LOL, ok I couldn't think of a better title.
Inspired by Bob's fantastic idea for a laser stand, (see this thread), while looking for a cheap tripod I stubbled on a dirt cheap AU$10 stand.
It's meant to support two flood lights at worksites.
Also scored some cheap ball heads and super clamps so I put this together.
It supports six super clamps but it's also easy to swap around to include an iPhone holder.
I prefer to have a separate tripod for a DSLR though or I can use my drone for those long distance shots...

Here's the ball head and super clamp. I used a 1/4" x 25mm bolt to attach it to the crossbar.

I drilled four extra holes in the crossbar to attached the ball heads and super clamps.

Here's the finished stand with four super clamps above and two below.

Also as an optional add-on, this iPhone holder can be placed at any position to utilise a phone camera.

and it attaches thusly...

So, I hope you enjoy and are inspired, thanks for the idea Bob.
Looking forward to using it in upcoming projects soon.

Very clever idea Andrew, that light stand looks like it was tailor-made for holding lasers.
I really like your idea of mounting two of the clamps "down under". ;)
:gj: thanks for sharing your ideas.

Great looking stand, wow, you always do stuff the right way. Looking forward to your next video using that little drone with a fixed laser pointing, hint, hint :)

I really hope you will do another one showing the difference in brightness between a single mode laser diode at 520 nm and a multimode at 520 nm without beam expanders to demonstrate how well a far lower power single mode can complete with a higher power multimode diode due to their lower divergence.

I thought you and Bob wanted to make a protest or something.
Yeah Curtis, Bob and I are Rebels without a cause.

Hey Rich, I'll load it up with some of my 510 Vape builds buddy... hahahaha

hahaha, good one Jeff, love it, Cheers.

Thank you Chris, much appreciated for those kind words.
I'll have to work out which of my lasers has unlimited duty cycle, probably one of my reds so I can send it up for up to 20 minutes at a time.
Or a way to turn it on remotely.

hehehe, anything for you Chris, let me work on it buddy.

Cool :)

If you use red MM I guess you will use red SM. Red MM has even worse divergence than green or blue, terrible. I use all of my reds with beam expanders due to that.

I'll see if I have a red SM, can't remember tbh.
I know that some of my reds have horrendous divergence so won't be a great loss if they fall from 1500 feet...

How about using the red from your RGB? Edit: I meant having the laser on the stand.

Ah gotcha.
Hey great idea about the RGB.
Imagine setting it up for a light show filmed from a distance....
Chris, my 'To Do' list is growing huge.... :undecided:
Lucky summer's approaching and the days are getting longer.

Your more than welcome. :)

I likes it. :)

Great work there, it's kinda what a had in mind as the next step. So much cheaper than buying a 100 dollar tripod. There so much sturdier also.

Thought it was curious. You said that summer is almost coming. It gave my pause, than I realized you were on the other side of the plant. Or as the "flat earth society" says the other side of the plane.

Looking forward to seeing some beam shot from your multi-phasic tripod. :gj:

The call it "down under" for a reason :)

Here in Iraq I am so looking forward to shorter days soon, too hot.

Hence why I placed two underneath...

I used to love winter, I could stand the cold and hated the heat.
Now as I get older.. well you know...
