Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

Vortish, I am kind of shocked you were able to see a pain specialist or any doctor for that long:eek: Must be a new record. Someone quick call Guinness (and I don't mean the beer)!
Really though as you are a bit familiar with my dealings with this subject I would really like to hear what happened. Probably specifics that I would understand would be better in a PM. Really need to contact James and see how he's doing. Things were pretty bad last time we conversed.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

I didn't get any xmas money or xmas bonus - my company never gives out xmas bonuses but it is known for being tight with it's money.

As well as people not having spare money, some may be worried about it being a scam (as I recall there being things like this in the past) - I'm not saying it is!

I've given a little (oddly paypal charged me an extra $0.50) - I've also given the forum a little (which paypal didn't need the extra $0.50 for!).

Sorry it's not a lot but I hope it helps.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

OKay-- I really like some of this BUT>>

first --its very poor taste to say much about who gives what and who can afford
I now understand the relation of amt and the 'chances'--
----or NOT. for that reason sometimes these fundraisers ask for the amt sent to NOT be posted. If its a gift from your heart there is no need to publish amts. poor taste -I know of some big $$$$ 'donaters' who ask to remain nameless. BUT since its connected to the drawin5 it needs to be done.

second FYI 'R4ffles'on-line are considered to be illegal gambling and PP WILL take action IF just by chance the 'R' word gets mentioned in a PP 'note' this is NOT something new- its been done this way for some time now- Like Kasio w/ a C and any version of the word 5ex- no do!

there is a LOT of editing that needs to be done ASAP- the 'R' word has been used and quoted way too many times-- change it --

like this post-

please dele the 'r' word-or change spelling --

here are most of the posts that need an edit- the 'R' word should NEVER be used-
about the amounts given-since you have it linked to the r4ffle that is needed==so N/M

IF you have ANY posts in this thread you need to go back and remove the R word or change the spelling-we need all the forum to avoid any problems arising from an illegal on-line gambling

so while there is NO harm spelling the R word out here at the forum I like to lead by example to avoid a member using a word or words in a PPal payment- not sure how 'fund-me' feels about this but why risk. I was told PP has a filter in place that sees usage of certain words -Ilke' R'- also 'drawin5' 'Prizes' 'tick3ts' etc-
any help we can give Jeff is a good thing- hak

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

^Thank you mentioning this hak, I wasn't aware.

I'll go back and edit my posts right away of course! The donation amount on the front page is just used as a way for me to keep track but if people wish I can remove that information?

Also, I will be adding donations given by jander(thank you :))

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

good-

since the amt given is tied to the drawing you need to do that- IMHO it can hurt a fundraiser when amts given are posted-- one guy gives $50 then the next is reluctant to give ,say, $5-- follow me?? -- IF a member is also in bad way he may not want to explain that to the entire forum why he cant help as much as he would like to.

anyhoo if an acct. got frozen nobody wins or gets help.. avoid the R word.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

Anything not having to do with Vortish should be removed as it adds nothing and only detracts from the foal point here.
I apologize to all as the difference in opinion should not have been discussed openly in a thread of this kind.
I was obviously not impressed by the # of members posting in this thread and if there's one thing I'm into its giving/helping those in need. 1/2 of you probably know I'm not doing well myself and haven't worked since April. I sacrifice some things to be able to do others the same as many of you. My wife works a $9/hour job for us to get by. This is not a complaint, it's just as things are. There's always someone worse off than you are somewhere;)
Vortish really could use our help in whatever means we are able.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

We could do with a lot of the inconsistent posts (such as the $5 a ticket one) being deleted and for the OP to be updated with the current information. Inconsistency might be putting people off too.

Issues I see with OP:
* .com missing from paypal email
* says there is a link when there isn't - please remove "The link is below:" and "Link(donations)"
* Add the fact that jander6442 has offered 3 lasers

I didn't really consider the r*ffle when donating, if I win a non-ebay laser then I will give more and/or pay for international shipping. If I win an ebay laser then you can keep it, I'm happy for the donator to decide what to do with it (give shipping costs to vortish, use in the next r*ffle, etc).

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

I only put down 2 one is a LOC 650nm with a Flex V5 @524mA and the second is a PHR using a groove 2 @ 135mA in one of my magnetic host builds. The LOC will use have an input no more than 5V and the PHR build will need more than 6V just to run, anyone those builds go to should prolly already know all this by now, both units case negative. They are solid units from way back before I got a lathe. They have hardly any run time I have so many I never really get to put to much time on any of them.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

I am grateful for any prayers, finical assistance, putting the word out about the gofundme

Short term help by Jeff Pierce - GoFundMe

the reason we went with pay pal was we get to keep all of the donation! go fund me takes 7 percent of the donation to pay for their site! The pain specialist is more online with what the er doc said about it may be possibly I got poisoned with organophosphates. which can have some really screwy neurological side effects. the bad thing of that is that it can only be treated 72 hours from exposure to it. My condition if it is that is premanate! any way thanks for keeping my spirits up god bless ya all

I've heard of organophosphates poisoning - but I only knew it as something sheep farmers got from dipping them, I then researched online and found out it is "one of the most common causes of poisoning worldwide"! Truly shocking.

I wish you well - hope they are/will be able to reduce your symptoms and that you find the inner strength to keep positive.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

I talked with "V" for at least a couple hours yesterday (on an actual phone) and I'll just say the sheer number of issues (way beyond the organophosphates) is frankly hard to comprehend.
I'm embarrassed to admit I was exhausted trying to take it all in.

Re: Fellow LPF Member in trouble

Pman I really enjoyed that call yesterday. What many of you do not know is that i currently have a unknown illness. Some of the team of doctors that i have think its what is called a conversion disorder! That may or may not be it! I had a episode last weekend that put me in the er. The doc there thought it might be caused from pesticide poisoning or orgnophosphate poisoning. This is just the newest thing in a long line of ailments. I have asthma, high blood pressure (genetic) RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) it a light seizure disorder, server allergies, Chronic arthritis in most of my upper body, I suffer from shin splints, nerve damage in my neck, missing part of a finger, and a few others This is not to gain sympathy its just who I am! I been working since the age of 13 working on farms picking rye, rock and doing general labor to make money to help my mom and dad out when i was young. Im 38 be 39 in may and that is 22 + years of working with my hands and my body and its all caught up to me! any way like I said that is not for sympathy but just a general insight to my health

It's January 14th! Would some members like me to extend the duration for the prizes or just pick the winners today when I get home?
