Hey guys I usually get on this fourm through my smartphone. Just an idea I think lpf should have a mobile app I know it's a lot of coding for a application. I would like to know who thinks this is a good idea and who gets on lpf with a cellular device/tablet. Thanks!

I'd like it. Talk to coldshadow, maybe send him a pm. Using the site on mobil is difficult.

I get on with my Galaxy tab 3 all the time. The biggest problem with with my phone is the small screen. Once I figured out how to leave a comment while giving rep, it's not bad. (On my tablet)

I dislike apps and HATE tapatalk they are watered down version of the sites. Yes it's hard at times using a phone which I do more often but I'll deal with it. If there was an app I'd check it out of course.

There is an app, but unfortunately private messages don't send through it, or they'll hang and seem not to send, but send in the background.

I've looked for solutions for using LPF on mobile, and unfortunately there's no good solution.

Not sure why there isn't just a CSS sheet that could resize things appropriately for mobile. Maybe it would impair the ad networks or create a security risk - those are often the concerns.

It helps a lot if you turn on the white color scheme and turn off people's avatars and signatures. Some people use big obnoxious photos for their sigs.

Yup, some LPF pages will take a few megs to load just because of huge sig pictures.

I use a g3. It is difficult to upload pics from my device. The sizing is the heck of it since these G3s take very large nice pictures. A good app would be nice for all those beam shots.

How/Where at? I found the white background but didn't know we could turn off sigs and avatars.

I know hate pictures or even worse gifs in signatures.

Have I ever raised the PM issue? I'm not sure I ever mentioned it.

PMs often hang on the forumrunner app. I'm not sure what the culprit is. About half the time that they hang, they actually send, the other half the time they don't. What usually happens then, is that the hanging PM prompts you to try and re-send, and then some of the time the recipient will end up with multiple copies of the same message.

strange, wasn't aware of that. unfortunately i don't think forumrunner is being developed anymore, at least for the version of vbulletin we use. the lasttime the software was updated was march 1 of 2013 for vbulletin version that LPF is using

Would it be possible to get Tapatalk back? That worked much better for me.

I don't know how this stuff works, but could you just add a third style/theme that is meant for mobile? It seems like there are some.

I think 95% of the challenges in using this site mobily would be solved by just a mobile friendly theme.
