I'd suggest just buying you own you may spend a bit more but it'll get to you quicker and trust me these 589nm lasers have absolute perfect gaussian beams a beautiful color. Also when it's in its happy.temperature range it's rather bright and most certainly over 50mw.

I bought my first one at full retail, no discounts, for $419 plus shipping which totaled right around $440. In all honesty, $440 for this unit is a bargain all day every day IMHO. I would have bought my second and third at full retail had this GB not come together as it did.

Having said that, you can probably get Adam to cut you a little off retail by just simply asking. You wont get the deal we got but he may give you a free upgrade to silver membership and with the discount there you will save a few more bucks. If it were me in your position I would email DL (just use their "contact us" tab) and address your message to Adam and tell him you are a LPF member who didn't make the GB in time and that you were wondering if there was any way he could offer you some sort of discount. I am willing to bet he will, just a hunch based on what i have already seen him willing to do.

If you try this please report back your results, I am sure other here would be very interested to hear what happens.

Good luck,

Not at the moment. I have a deposit on one but I haven't been able to make contact with the individual for days now. Not sure what's up but if I can't make contact with him in the next few days I will refund his deposit and there is one other person who would be in front of you. If he didn't want it then it would be available. It's a long-shot but I will let you know something if things fall through with either of these other two people,

I would really appreciate that, because I am just getting involved again on the forums after a 3 year hiatus, and I am really sad I just missed this awesome GB by a month.

And thanks Jmillerdoc for suggesting this, if I don't end up getting this one (from the GB) I will probably definitely be buying one from another means.

I will be starting a dialog with Adam from DL and see what could maybe happen.

I remember what drove me to LPF when I was first learning about lasers, it was the community and how nice people can be (versus elsewhere on the internet).

And that is why I am back again. :)

I plan to so just this but regarding a 532nm laser. I'll buy two even if any discount is given. I'm still surprised how quick I got my laser. 8 days after payment it was in my hand. I've said it 4 times but that's very impressive. To anyone new though don't expect the same results. I was most likely just lucky.:p

RayJay ended up backing out so now I need to figure out who was second in line behind him. If he doesn't want it than it is yours Viperx1101.

Sent a PM and email to DB8088 who was next in line. Gave him 24 hours to respond (actually longer since i first PM'd him yesterday). If I don't hear back from him or he doesn't want it than it is Viperx1011's if he wants it. Next in line would be Ionlaser.

How would someone turn a handheld into a labby. Just remove inards and rebuild in a heat sink?

The module is inside a brass cylinder inside the pointer housing , remove it mount and cool with a TEC / controller .

I did it with a 1mW 593.5nm pointer , the easy way with just a TEC arctic glued to the side of the module and a heat sink , It gave me 2.3 ish mW stable for over half hour , I needed a better TEC controller to get any decent stability and power .
