Wow I'm impressed with how many of you have bought these 589s and they all seem to be in fine fettle too.

Xirrious, you know I am very pleased that you are enjoying your 589 Spartan. Lol I had to silence my phone at work when you got it. Kept getting text alerts lol!

I am still using my 589 just about everyday, although I have been putting more time and thought into my current project than anything else, as I am extremely excited for it and has been a long time coming for me. The particular project has been something I have considered since...well. Since 7th grade as I sat doodling in my home room class. Now it is 10 years later and I am finally getting close to realizing it. More to come soon.

Big thanks to everyone who ended up purchasing a 589nm Spartan Laser after viewing this review. Not only am I extremely happy that I have helped people take the plunge on ultimately one of the best deals I have ever seen so far on such an awesome wavelength, but as a result Adam from Dragon Lasers offered to send me a 2X Beam Expander. I was not expecting anything from them so I am ecstatic about it.

The Beam Expander arrived this week with adapters for Spartan and Aurora series lasers, and I have to say it is awesome! I'll be making a review of it soon, but it definitely improves the divergence of my Spartan laser.

the adapter for the Spartan requires you to "remove" the front cap of the laser. I also have one of Dragon Lasers beam expanders and the universal adapter. The Spartan specific adapter screws into the host :).

Yeah they're nice. I only dislike one thing about the PGL-M. and that is it's somewhat bad servicability-at least for greens anyway. I imagine the yellow isn't quite as bad. it's alot to cram in that little host though. pretty impressive.

Yeah, Smeer has been making us jealous for a few years now, he knows this well.

Excellent review here btw. I missed it somehow, but such is life. My own one of these lasers just made it through customs and is en route!

Ba ha hahaaa Yes Very true Isaac but I do thank you as now they are selling so fast it won't be long before there will be a price drop to entice MORE people to buy one! Well I am hoping. But in the meantime I may have to start attending "Lasers Anonymous" and take part in their 12 point program. I just can't stop buying!

I honestly think they are selling out of them and that will be it. Every other yellow offering they had has sold out, no more available. But they can get some of them....at twice their old price.

It seems it is because cost of parts has gone up a lot, last i'd heard. less sales means more expensive parts from less bulk ordering which has lead to the higher prices.

the C used to be 650 and the M was 400, and the A was 350 if I remember correctly. and now they have roughly doubled in price as of the last few months up to 1300, 830, and 780 last I had checked.

You don't think they are going to make any more 589 lasers? That would suck as this was my next purchase

I don't think so. When I bought mine they were out of stock and DL got more.

I don't really believe the whole "cost of materials increased" thing, either. CNI just increased their prices because they lost a lot of sales due to the FDA stuff (which makes no economic sense, but at the end of the day I don't think they care about the hobby market).
