duh (on me)
the 650 is the only 4W c-mount= forgot about it new diodes happen much faster now compared with the past..
only lucked upon one of these- and will be teaming up with fellow texan 'Gadget'(Dallas)he is a wiz at cutting glass into circles which I can only do if its a large one-3.5 inches--- HE has a diamond circle cutter than goes down to 2 inches so he keeps one and I get back the other three (IF the 'cut' goes well) and the scraps too I always keep them to send out as samples and also to build a LUMIA CAP that keeps dust from my JL's fronts- and make a nice static LUMIA-- - I do NOT like lens caps that can do harm if , by accident, a laser comes on and you do not know that because of the dust cap-
Rodman is also iin our TX LUMIA group and has recently gotten a sample pack of glass AND Bradof69 at PLEX trurned me onto a company(Delphi) that sells 8X8 sheets of 7 or 8 good textured clear glass- so at 2 inch 'rounds' we will get lots of pieces to sell-
Sub my LUMIA thread to stay on top-
plenty 1/3rd RPm motors in stock presently same or lower price as SS charges with shipping of one pcs. (around $`11 each)
lots of interesting reads found by searching 'LUMIA'- the earliest must have been candle powered as they date back to ALMOST 100 YEARS --
EZ to build on an AL plate or even a piece of plastic cutting boards (nylon??)
my kits will soon be standardized - to a one motor basic or delux versions or a second motor added for very little-
If you have seen my pics of the candelabra bubs keep in mind that at owe's AND Home Depot they sell some that LOOK the same but are not as good- hard to tell w/o using a laser BUT IF you look VERY close to the part between the 'diamonds' (pattern) you want the ones with a lin4e you can see in between- the other are smooth from diamond to diamond and that 'line' between makes that one a better choice- - see my pics of this in the LUMIA thread-- or be prepared to make a return ( save yr recpt)
Antique shops love their glass too much IMO- junk stores - thrift shops are a better deal every time. Do 'nice talking' with the store Op. and show with your pointer what you mean- they may like you enough to save pieces for you and give you an even better deal...same goes for Mirror & Glass shops-

best 25 cents i have ever spent would have paid 10X s that--
use ctrl + to zoom that green bulb pic below-
we need a 'drink coaster' expert-or collector-
IIRC there are some websites about unknown items either What they are or where to buy-
*******************
green pic below:
the space between the 'diamonds makes the diff- hard to see at first by looking at the bulb but side by side LUMIA the 'line between' version makes a better and bigger 'throw'
OR but my kit as it comes with one already mounted to fit the motor-
and a Tex-size 'torture tube'-- and some mounts to hold down the motors etc.
its NOT(great) LUMIA unless you image 'morphs' (slow is better-- even a clock motor with 1 rmp needs to be slowed down.
so I do like the 1/2 rpm vdc hankscraft motors BUT wow they are NOT cheap- I see no edge with DC as I would never need to reverse the direction-- I have two of these waiting to be used in my portable LUMIA all ran from 18650s.
hak
I must have seen a hunf=dred crappy old lamps in dumpsters everywehere but mostly at the charity- thrift shop where i volunteered almost every weekend for 10 years that 'collar' in the last pic with the set screw makes into a nice motor mount that should NEVER fail compression fitted stuff CAN come apart- so I suggest you build your lumia with gravity as your friend- with the motor on its back for builds with bulbs or tubes , of course for flat glass the motor must be on its side-- where these stand as far as 'street legal' i ama little in the dark- I guess you must LPM the brightest spots and do the math to see if yours is 'legal'MPE. Or just use it in private like I do..
suggestions?? Qs? fire away by PM or over in me LUMIA thread
