Having looked around for quite a while for a burning blue laser, I finally decided to go with a $130 450nm laser from Lazerpoint.com. I had read some pretty horrible stuff about their company and how people have received lasers without batteries and chargers, and lasers that simply don't work. This however was not the case at all.

I placed the order about a month ago, and used their free standard shipping method. I finally got it in the mail today.

Now, I guess Lazerpoint is famous for selling under-spec lasers, and while I have no proof (yet) of exactly how powerful this thing is, I can say it is on par with what 1500mW lasers are expected to do. On the diode housing it actually even reads 1.6W.

So while expedited shipping is by no means these guy's profession, selling me a quality laser was. So they get a thumbs up from me.

This is the link to the laser:
Powerful 1500mw 450nm Adjustable-focus Blue Laser Pointer (Black) with 1 × Laser Pointer 2 ×16340lithium battery - Free Shipping

I would post some beam shots, but the only camera I have is terrible... Needless to say, the beam makes you feel like you're holding a light saber.

If you are thinking about purchasing this laser, or any other like it, head over to SurvivalLaser and get yourself proper protection goggles, your eye safety is no joking matter, here's the link:
Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles

Use the discount code LPF445 to receive 10% off your purchase.

Thank you all for reading, and feel free to ask any questions about this laser.

P.S: This is my first 1W+ laser.

Would be interesting to see the results of a LPM test- the site seems very sketchy to me, and like you said, I have heard nothing but bad reviews. Glad it worked out for you, though!

I plan on sending this out to someone who can use an LPM on it, and I'll make sure to update everyone when I have the results! It'll be interesting.

Well, I think you were lucky, but you should never purchase from sites like that.
Enjoy your laser :)

I've bought my next few lasers from Eitan. Sci-Fi lasers is probably my favorite place to get lasers now! :yh:

I don't doubt I was lucky, but if I had to I'd trust them again to get me a laser, haha.

People have been getting defective lasers? You mean people actually got something after pumping out money to this company? I spent $50 on a 200mw red laser and some protective goggles and I never even got them. I ordered them 2 months ago and my package never arrived. I spent money on what I thought was a decent mid-powered laser and didn't even get a defective one. Needless to say, I'm never going to their site again.

I don't blame you. I got lucky.

Do you have a tracking number for your order with them? I've heard of it taking a few months to ship before.

I did get a tracking number, but every time I try to type it in, I get an error message. Their online help thing is down right now as well, which doesn't make things any easier. I'll give it 2 more weeks before I demand a refund. If I get my laser by then, great. If not, I am going to be in a very bad mood. *sigh* oh well, guess I should have looked up some reviews on here before ordering from them :/

EDIT: Laser just got here. Slightly under spec, but I'm just glad it works. Still not buying from them again. Two and a half months just isn't worth it.

Guess I should have read this post before I made a purchase.... I made 2 orders. One was ordered Dec 30th an came in about 2 weeks. The other was made 5 Jan, and I've yet to get it, and the tracking number shows it's STILL processing in Singapore?!? Oh and I've been trying to get an RMA for the 1st order, for about a week and a half..... They dang near what your 1st born before they'll give you an RMA # (which I've yet to receive).

Lazerpoint tried to scam me as well, I ordered a pair of "200mW" 650nm lasers and they never arrived. This happened early last summer. They charged me twice, so I was out 65 dollars. I disputed the charges via my bank and got the money back.

I can't prove it, but I strongly suspect this company sold or otherwise divulged my credit card info to internet thieves in Hong Kong. Several fraudulent charges were made to my account, in the amount of around 500 dollars. Apparently I was ordering cosmetics in bulk  Of course, none of that merchandise ever arrived either :p My bank's fraud team took care of it, and I got that money back too.

Avoid Lazerpoint.

So as of now, I have purchased 6 total lasers from them. And only 3 work. Both 405nm lasers were DOA. One 200mw 532nm died swiftly. The other I just received today, so we'll see how long it last. Both 500mw 532nm worked out of the box, though the 1st one wasn't close to the claimed 500mw's, and I've yet to check the one I just received today. Just sharing information, so others can make more informed decisions.
