Having gone through a few cheapo pointers I realize specs mean little in China.

Can anyone suggest an inexpensive 808nm pointer with adjustable focus and a bona fide output of 1000mw - 2000mw?

thanks

Well I wanted to know his purpose for it, there are a number of possibilities.

Self operated laser treatment? that's nuts...

This is insane! That's like if I had back troubles and decided my neighbor should do the surgery. Please consider profesional assistance and not doin this at home.

$199 for a 1W IR really? I just did a quick parts check and it can be done for under $80. That's uncharacteristic of you your prices are usually pretty good.

Im guessing he charges a compulsory stupid buyer surcharge for fools wanting ridiculously dangerous, practically invisible lasers for medical treatments.

That's where the extra $119 comes from i assume.

If your get a real 1w you have to have best lens real good diode a case- set up ,there not that easy to make you have to know what your doing or your out a diode. and most diode you get that say there 1w are 500mw out of the lens. the kit comes with the gray host batteries charger free shipping.
and (Fiddy is right there is a surcharge for fools in all laser sales, you take a risk on all sales and it is bigger on IR Laser,)that is why I do not like to sale IR Lasers and do not have on my web site. and will not sale out of the USA.

You can get the 1W 808nm diodes(not from China) in the 9mm package for under $20, and with an anodized heat sink in the C6 the diode is electrically isolated making the build as easy as a normal 445nm build. As far as the lens I don't know I've never LPM'd the difference, but I'd put money on it that I could make a 808nm damn near 1W in a C6 for under $100. I do get though that your hosts aren't quite as cheap as the C6 so some up price is built in there.

Rouge,
Seriously? 1 Watt of near I.R. pointed at your knee? I'm afraid that's gonna remove you from the 'patients who do not want surgery' category...
Have you thought about crystal therapy, or maybe, the put a raw egg in a saucer under your bed therapy?
More realisticly, the surgery isn't that painful, and recovery is a breeze if you follow the physical therapy (and I'm over 60).

the anodized heat sink would make it easy. I use my big heat sinks for a better run time. but not all the diodes will go to 1w most are around 500mw after the lens . for the $199 it will be 1w
